Why would I do this? FOR ME!

I don't post a lot, but I do read these boards and keep up to date on things.  I try to comment only when I have something to contribute.  Normally, I try to be kind & look at the other prospective.  BUT, this really bothered me.

One you need to let roll off your back. She hasn't walked a mile in anybody's shoes but her own. She forgets we who had less than 100 pounds to lose likely had a comorbidities getting worse every day and we weren't able to lose on our own any easier than she was. Block her so you don't have to read her stupidity.

This is the reason I dont put my stats in my siggy. There is so much hate and misunderstanding. I cant imagine what the OP would think of me getting the DS. I like posting over here with the LWs where there is understanding and general kindness about everything.

hang around for a while and you will see just about everything.  Just hit delete and come back to the LWs where we support each other.

I am HOPING my resonse isn't liked. I want her to walk in my shoes and that includes being offended because people keep questioning my decision.

And I hate the come back to this question of ... well, they had co-morbidities. No, not every lightweight has comorbidities. I didn't or at least not ones insurance counted.

This is the way I look at it: In the US WLS is medically approved for people with a BMI of 40 (i.e., 100 pounds to lose) without co-morbidities and 35 with comorbidities. Therefore NO ONE should question us about why we are getting it. It's a medically approve procedure and that's all they need to know.

OTOH, if your BMI is lower than these guidelines and you live in the US, I still don't think people should be starting threads to question your decision... it's a medical decision so it's between us and our surgeons and there is nothing to question.

I don't post much, but do read most days and that post is a little offensive to me also. I come here to the lightweights board even though I am (was) not officially a lightweight. I had a BMI of 42 and no co-morbidies.

I try to respect the reason people had WLS and chose the one that they did for their own reasons. Being that kind of disrespectful of others choices is most likely the way the poster is about more than this subject.

I agree with blocking the offensive poster and ignoring such thought processes!!

If I had never found the LW's board I wouldn't still be on OH.  There are some pretty nasty "jealous" people on the other side.
