Frustrated with myself

I know all of this is my own fault.  I'm just so frustrated with myself.  I was so pumped up when I first got my sleeve and followed everything to a "T".  The holidays came and I got through them well--painfully, but well! HA  The new year seemed to hit and that's when I seemed to get a little faulty.  We got really busy at home and I just got lost in the game plans.  I found myself making excuses about not having enough time to plan out foods, not having energy (which was actually true) and finding myself in a tailspin of wanting to eat and drink at the same time more and more. Some times I'm not hungry at all or even want to drink.  Then all of a sudden I want to eat and drink a bunch, but of course, i can't.
I've not lost any weight for the last few weeks (almost a month), although I haven't gained any.  But I'm getting so mad at myself for not exercising.
When I begin to exercise, my back kills me.  I do have a bad back (multiple car accidents have made for a bit of a testy lower back problem), but I know I HAVE to exercise to lose my weight and make myself toned as well.  Getting more frustrated as I lose weight and hear how everyone else is exercising so much and getting shaped up.  I feel like a blob.
Thanks for listening.  Just having a really, really hard day.

Sorry you are having such a rough day. Stalls do happen. People do get lax in their routines.

Be kind to yourself. Start planning and getting your liquids in. Sounds like you know what you need to do already. I have really off days too, thank goodness they dont outnumber the good days.

As for the exercise, can you do something in the water that may be kinder to your back? Or just walking? This is your journey and you cant compare to someone else. I know its hard and we want results, but you will get there. You can do this and in your own time.

Wish I could give you a great big hug!

Thank you everyone!  I really appreciate you giving me a nudge about what I need to do.  And yes, I guess I do know what that is.  :)
Just had been feeling like I had really let myself down.  Realizing tonight that I need to be good to myself and it's okay to start anew.
Back in my journals, back on my plan; back on that horse!!
Thanks again for the hugs and the boost!
Love to all!

Mary Lou-

I have lower back and hip pain, too, and I have to tell you water exercises are so awesome. I have a lot more flexibility than I used to, and I can do way more (and be more active) in the water than I can on land. Even just walking in the water is great. Also, many times I have bad posture when using the elliptical or the treadmill, and I really feel sore the next day.

Be gentle with yourself. It's good to get a self-check and get back on track, but you are the only you you have. :-) Or something like that.

You can do it!

Start Weight: 245 Removed my monthly totals, because for me, comparision is the thief of joy.
Dare to believe that this time will be different. You can succeed this time.

Stalls are pretty normal and you have done great so far.  this isn't a sprint, its a marathon, for the rest of your life so it's important to settle into a routine that you can live with.

I try to remember to drink, 20 oz at least between each meal.  And I eat 4 meals a day, so that keeps me hydrated and busy.  With all that eating and drinking, there isn't much time for getting in trouble.

I also have back problems and now of course all this going on with my knee.  It has made it almost impossible to stay active, other than PT stuff.  I did get the personal trainer to give me some exercises I could do to help my core and upper body while I was dealing with the knee stuff.  And I try to get in the pool several times a week to walk and do my knee exercises.  It's finding a balance that will work for you.  Just using an exercise ball at the computer may help strenghen your core and get you able to do more.  Add some walking, even if it is short, 10 min several times a day and all that helps.

You can do this.  You have done great so far.

Also realize that the successful people tend to post more.  It doesn't mean others aren't having the same difficulties staying on track, exercising, etc.

It's one of my pet peeves (even though I'm definitely guilty of it) that we don't post when things aren't going as well as we had hoped.  I think it's a leftover from before we had surgery, when we learned to be so embarrassed about ourselves.

Setbacks, stalls, doubts-they are all normal.  Stay on the path and a few detours will not keep you from your final goal.

You are doing great!

Like others have said - please be gentle to yourself. We all have times that we do better than others, have days that we didn't do as well as we would have liked. Remember like Price said, this is a marathon. We need to make changes that we can live with even after we have reached our goal weight.

One thing I do is I track my meals on myfitnesspal.com and Weigh****chers every day - good or bad. It helps me see any trends, so I can adjust things when I need to. I also have posted my meals on Roz's M&M, but the other two I can do on my phone when I'm running around, so it is more accessible to me. However, when I do post under Roz's M&M, I always get good feedback on how to make my menu better.

(((hugs))) to you. You are doing great!

Hi Mary Lou....I know how you feel.  I felt badly because I was not exercising like others.  I do walk and try to walk a lot.  It has not been as regular as it was, and I have been guilty of emotional eating the last few days.  And, of course, those few pounds I battle have returned.  But like you said, it is my fault.  When I walk and eat correctly, maintenance and losing those few pounds is actually easy.  We know what to do.  I was a slow loser throughout my entire losing phase.  I just kept at it day after day.  I have to work hard not to compare myself to others.
