FINALLY have a date

For when these WIRES (known as arch bars) in my mouth get taken off...May 21st at 11:30AM...The surgeon is also removing a small part of the post that is under my left eye which is why we are doing this in day surgery and not in the office.

The titanium post on the left side is a tad too high and can be felt poking at the skin. He has to make a tiny insicion and remove the top of the post and then sew it back up. Good thing I am not vain and worry about the wrinkles under my eyes...the scar that he will leave will just blend into the folds.

So two more weekends of this...was SO hoping for before the 18th but since the office didn't get insurance approval til yesterday, I guess I am doing good.

It's too bad you have to go another couple of weeks before you can have all your wires removed.  I don't think I'd like all those posts and wires in my mouth.

Swinging lizards for ya

Eliza, I've done six weeks now...another two isn't gonna kill me...maybe FEEL like it but it won't.

The posts are suppose to stay, permanently...the ONLY reason he is removing the top of one is that it feels like it's gonna poke thru my skin. It is suppose to be BELOW bone level but it isn't, so he has to clip it. The right side is fine.

The only reason he hasn't dealt with it before now is that it had not broken thru the skin and wasn't an issue that way. But it HURTS, so it has to get clipped. But then again, most of my face has hurt since surgery...from edema mostly.

Thanks for the swinging lizards.

Liz

AMEN to that, Gina...it's been a LONG six weeks and  I suspect the next two will feel AS long as the last 6.
