I bet Travis is good with stuff like this. I've been letting 4 year olds help me....LOL. They are amazing except for when it comes to copy/ paste. The 12 year old helped me with that. This seems to be the only site I am having problems with. DD is going to help me as soon as choreography camp is over.

Hi everyone! I am new here and have read a lot of great stuff so far. I am working on getting all my testing done for the surgery. I had the psyche eval yesterday. They didn't take me out in a straight jacket so I guess I am ok, :) . Have the sleep study the 27th, the Endoscope on Aug 1st and the cardiac clearance appt on Aug 6th. Not sure when I will get scheduled. My insurance only required the psyche eval so all the rest is the surgeons mandates. I have also started to add more protein to my diet and am trying various protein powders and such to find ones that I like. Any tips are welcome and appreciated. Thanks
Welcome aboard!
Sounds like you're doing the right things. You might want to start taking vitamins and dry vitamin D3. My son take 5,000IUs of dry D3 a day and finds it at VitaminShoppe.

Welcome to our lightweight board and Menus and Miles! Congrats on you upcoming surgery!
What kind of surgery are you having? If you have the time to put it on your profile or signature it would help us a lot when we are trying to answer your posts and giving you advice.
I'm happy to hear you are going to try the Protein drinks. In my opinion that is the way to go. As strange as this might sound it is very true....our tastes change for awhile after surgery so you won't want to go out and buy tubs of Protein. Everything seems to taste sweeter, saltier, stronger. I could not drink flavored drinks for quite awhile but everyones different. It's best to buy samples and try them after surgery.
Be careful what drinks you buy. Some of them have a lot of calories and carbs that might slow down your weight loss. The Syntrax Nectares only have 90 calories, no fats, no carbs, and no sugar so use that as your example and try to stay as close to that as you can. I used the GNC Pro Permance early out. At GNC you can return opened containers with a receipt if you don't like it.

Thanks Roz! My name is Diane. I did hear that taste can change post surgery but figured I could at least get an idea of what is decent and what is not. My biggest fear is my hair!! I know that is silly but it is what it is. I did try the Nectares and it is very good. I was surprised that they had protien fruity tasting powders to add to bottled water. Great to use at work and such to sip on all day.
I will update the profile too. I am having gastric sleeve surgery at barix in PA.
Thanks for the welcome, nice to have a place to go where everyone knows what you are going through and can provide support.
