Up that protein.  You need it to stay healthy.  Have you had your levels checked?  I seem to need over 100g a day to keep my level up.

Other than that, keep on keeping on.  Yes, I looked gaunt for a few months but don't anymore.  The clothing sizes are just weird.  I can wear many 6s, some 4s and sometimes a 8 will be too tight in the waist.  You will just have to find some brands that work for you.  I mostly wear small shirts but sometimes they are tiny and way too tight.  Makes no sense but I have to try everything on.  You won't have to go naked, you will find something.

I think I wrote this same post 3 years ago....

I got down to 121-123.  BMI of about 21-22.  I did look gaunt, my face was drawn and I was like a stick - but, I liked it.  Then the weight started redistributing and I put some on.  I also lost a LOT of muscle during my weight loss and put quite a bit back on since.

I'm hovering between 133-135 now.  My goal was 125.  I do look healthy now, like Lynn said.  Get down as low as you can go - your body will tell you when to stop - not your coworkers or friends.  But, do expect a bit of 'bounce back" - getting down lower will give you that flexibility.

Clothing sizes - UGH!  I remember having those problems - initially I couldn't find clothes big enough to fit right, then it was small enough to fit right - lol - what a dilemma!  Now I'm hanging in a 6 and can still get in some of my 4's.  I'm not complaining!  Yea, in high school i weighed the same and wore a size 12-14.. that's what vanity sizing does for us.  I really hate to think of the girls back then that were really small and needed 6's... that would be kid sizes now!

You are not alone, I feel the same way. I had the surgery for health reasons so I'm way smaller than my "goal" but my body kept loosing. I am 5'0" and 133 now and I am in the final stages of my honeymoon. The Dr. said that I would probably bounce back 10 lbs but I needed to try to make it muscle and not fat. I hate the way my legs look and my behind is so flat! My stomach, which I never had a problem with before, sticks out like I'm pregnant. However, I feel good and I'm wearing a 6 or 8. I still have my 10's as well. Don't worry about it. Enjoy yourself because from what I've been reading, very few people are "happy" with their weight. They are always trying to loose or gain. LOL

For some odd reason I just found your post Tonya and yet again you and I are on the same page... I got on my uniform pants for work.. Brand new size 6 and you guessed it they are really to big... And my 6 shorts are doing the same thing.... I'm getting in about the same on the protein in maybe a little more.. But here is what I've decided.. We are gonna be ok... We are ok.... I've decided to take it day by day... Continue this journey and have made te choice to be happy about the weight loss even if it is above and beyond what my "goal" weight is or was....take heart and please don't  lose faith everyone with experience in this area tells me I will stop losing.. So for the time being I'm just gonna enjoy being little!!!

I'm glad I'm not alone.  In my head I know it's going to be okay, but I still felt a little anxious.  I'm glad I posted.  Everybody has made me feel so much better.

I worried about this too. And I did get kind of bony for a while.

But it turned out I was worrying about nothing. Unless you are  having  issues with malnutrition where your body just wont' absorb nutrients, then the reality is that the chances you will be back here in 2 years moaning about being up higher than you want to be are about 10x greater than the chance you will be here moaning about how you still can't keep the weight on.

You are in no way at risk of being underweight at this point.  A normal BMI  is 18.5 to 24.9 = you are at 25.4 right now which is still considered overweight.  A BMI of 18.5 is 101 and 24.9 is 135.  So, you are very close to a normal BMI is great but you are by now means close to being underweight.

You are doing great.  If at 5.2 and 139 you are wearing sizes 4's and 6's then you are obviously a small frame and enjoy it.  There are stores that extra smalls, and if they dont, you are petite - go to department stores, they have petite departments and they run smaller.  I am 5'6 and do wear petite pants due to very short legs but I wear a larger size in the petites than in the regulars. So, the petites might really help you.  You might be able to get  a size 6 petite or a size 3/4 in the junior department is another option.

Some people that actually do get too small that are like 4'11 and size 0's or maybe a 2, sometimes get some clothes in the childrens departments and there are also some stores that specialize in really small stores.  We have a store here in NY called 0. 2, 4 and that is all they sell.  I actually think they sell a size 00.  I know Chico's sells a 00 also and they are all over the US.

.  After I had some pretty bad complication and lost way too much weight, I got down to 122 (I am 5'6) - I was 170 when I when I went into the hospital 3 months prior.  I had been a 12 and went down to a size 8.  I must be a large frame - I have very wide hips and a lot of extra skins in my lower abdomen and waist.  Now that I have finally gained my weight back which wasnt easy, now I am a size 14.  It is strange because I am now 5 or 8 pounds less about 162 to 165 and a bigger size.  Even when I was skin and bone at 122, (had extra skin in abdomen) but nothing anywhere else I was still wearing an 8.

50 to 60 grams of protein isnt nearly enough of protein unless someone is newly postop.  You are much further out and need alot more than that.   I dont know when you had labs done last but I would thaink your albumin and total protein are probably pretty low.  You want your albumin to be in the mid 4;s and your total protein to be in the 7;s.  You should be getting atleast 100 grams of protein by 9 or 10 months out.  It is really important in maintaining your muscles, increasing your metabolism, without enough you can get malnurished.  You malabsorb protein and 50 grams is way too low.

In order to get extra calories and add more protein, you are probably going to have to add a protein shake daily.  Homemade shakes have anywhere from 35 to 45 grams and are delicious.  I love mine and there are tons of variations.  You can also make them with your coffee, tea or hot cocoa.  If you want, I can send you recipes - I may have done it in the past already.

You should also be eating 5 to 6 small meals per day.  Only eating 3 meals per day will not give you nearly enough calories or protein per day either.  Alot of programs start post ops off with 3 meals only per day and that is part of the problems.  5 to 6 small meals per day is so much better for you, both for your metabolism, your blood sugar, your protein
