Did everyone have a "bounce back"?
Surgery morning I was 151.5 (Christmas parties, going away lunches blah blah). Dr. Sauceda took off 6.5 pounds of skin from my entire body and did lipo as well. When I returned home at 2 weeks pot op, I was 145. Exactly the 6.5 down. In the following 3 weeks my metabolism was revved up from healing and I went as low as 140 for a minute, then stabilized at 141-143.
This time with my revisions I went in at 143 and 4 weeks later I'm 143. There was no metabolically boost and the skin removed was minimal as it was a minor revision. Now it's up to me to low carb my way back to 141. I'm cleared for 30 minutes of walking daily now.
Everyone thinks they have tons of skin. A month ago my friend was with me in Mexico. She was an apple shape and had gone from 320 to 156 on her surgery morning. LBL, arms, thighs, face, breasts. Six pounds of skin. The people who see big numbers are those that still have a lot of fat attached to the skin. But that's just my opinion!
It's hard to get the butt up there. Squats help. I hiked 30-40 miles weekly up and down hills to help mine. I had a great butt augmentation so my butt is rounder now than its ever been. Before it was wide, fat and like a shelf. Now it's round.

I did not realize you went back for a minor revision. What did he revise? I have not been on the PS board for some time.
Squats do help? I have been skeptical about how much of an impact they will make on my body. I went to the gym yesterday for the first time in ages and made sure I did not leave w/o doing squats. How long does it take to build, generally speaking, and how many sets/reps/weight did you do. Did you do it daily? Walking hills must have made a huge difference as well. My terrain is flat as a pancake.
About the butt augmentation. That was my biggest issue Pre op...very large. Adding to it, though it has zero shape and sagging skin, is a psychological issue for me. Dr. L included it in my consult. Does it make that much of a difference or clothes fit tight back there? I guess you can tell I have a butt issue/mental issue.

Some of that bounceback is reintroducing " old favorites " we were afraid ( or too excited about the new sizing ! ) to eat the frst two years lol !
I am one of the " veterans " who's losing a little at a time 3 plus years postop . For me it comes from making peace with not eating sugary things , eating high protein food regularly and moving around lots during the day .
Frankly im thrilled to wear a size 2 comfortably again!
I would absoutely agree with the advice to lose as much as possible though... trust me even a little regain will make U SOO SAD
unless U were way too gaunt to begin with .
Some lightweights end up in children's clothes before the inevitable rebound !

How much did you bounce and how hard was it to get off to get back to wearing your clothes comfortably again? Did you leave your size 2s or were they more snug? That is where I am at today. Like you...I'm having to once again admit I was a sweet addict and cannot go back to eating those things on a daily basis like I have the last month or more. I also cannot eat other flour, high carb foods. Also....exercise is non-negotiable. I know these things, have posted about them yet did not follow my own advice. I agree....I wish I had gone lower when I had the opportunity.
My lowest weight at home was about 98 lbs. I actually saw 97 once or twice. That was about a year ago. My lowest at the doctor's was about 100 lbs. Way too low for me. My weight now is about 106 lbs at home with a different scale but probably weighs about the same. So I have put on at least 8 lbs, all welcome. I still wouldn't mind a few more and I expect to gain a little as time goes by since I eat pretty good. I never set out to get so low. My plan was to get to about 115 to 120 and bounce back to about 125 to 130 but my body had a mind of it's own.
I guess this is where I am supposed to be right now since I don't really have to work to stay here. I thought I would just continue eating the way I was and would just automatically stop at a good weight but it didn't work out that way and I had to put some effort into eating more. I heard constantly, even from total strangers, how sick I looked. People were worried about me. Even though I have only put on about 8 lbs I stopped getting the negative feedback I had been getting. People that I hadn't seen in a while didn't even recognize me. I feel better about myself now then I did and I think I will look even better with a few more pounds on me. My face just got really gaunt and drawn looking.
If I were you I would continue to stay away from bread and other white carbs. I totally avoid sugar and things with gluten in them and I credit that with my being able to maintain pretty easily.

I don't just love those foods but I believe I am physically and mentally addicted to them. Like an addict I have to totally avoid those foods in order to not crave them. I think the reason I have been able to stick with it is simply because I have found good substitutes that don't affect me in the same way so I don't feel deprived. I still enjoy candy but now I stick to sugar free and it satisfies me and doesn't cause me to crave more. I make sandwiches with gluten free bread. The other day we went out to an Italian restaurant and they had gluten free pizza. It was great and after a small slice I didn't want any more. My animals wound up knocking the box off the counter and eating the rest. The only reason I was upset was because it was $12 for a tiny pizza :)

I avoid everything with wheat in it. Whole wheat, white wheat, it doesn't matter. There is a good book on the subject, Wheat Belly, that really helped me understand why I can't have even a little in moderation. I am gluten free because wheat is a gluten and it makes it easy for me to avoid wheat if I look for gluten things. Gluten, or wheat, is in almost every processed food out there so I mainly stick with meat and veggies, fruits and some whole grains like oats. I do have gluten free bread occasionally. It makes it easy for me to tote a sandwich to work. I usually take two days to eat a sandwich since I load it up with mostly meat and cheese. I have had gluten free pasta and it's okay but nothing I look forward to. Even gluten free things are high in carbs so I don't make a habit of having them too much.
I don't eat rice because I have lost my taste for it. I will make cauliflower rice if I want something like it. I also use cauliflower to make pizza crust and it is really good. The best part is the toppings anyway.
I completely avoid any kind of sugar like honey and things like that. I do dump but even if I didn't I would avoid it since I can really go crazy with it. I do eat sugar free and sugar alcohols no longer bother me.
Other then that I eat whatever I want or what sounds good. Most nights I have either taco casserole or a chili dish that I make in batches and freeze for convenience. For lunch, like I said, when I am working I make gluten free sandwiches to take with me, other wise I may have home made chili or soup. I eat gluten free crackers sometimes, too. For breakfast it's usually protein coffee and Greek yogurt with sugar free pudding mix. I also make gluten free banana bread protein muffins and have one or two of those. I eat a lot of cheese and nuts throughout the day. If I am busy and don't have time to eat I will eat a protein bar or have a protein drink.
I love fruit but I don't buy it often because I wind up tossing most of it, unless I buy a single apple or banana. I love berries but whenever I buy them I only have a few before they go bad.
I also have sugar free pudding or fudgecicles for snacks. It's hard for me to believe I weigh so little considering how often I eat and how much.

Thank you so much. I bought Wheat Belly for my iPod several months ago. I saw it mentioned here by several people then on TV on the same day or so. So I bought it. I'm now going to sit down and start reading it. I don't remember what was said on TV about the book that got my attention, but it was so good I immediately bought it.
