I needed a date for a mandatory Christmas party and I'd been eyeing a picture sitting on my coworker's desk for a long time. Turns out it was her prized baby brother and he wasn't seeing anyone. She set us up--after he saw a picture of me and after we talked briefly on the phone. I think he'd been burned with blind dates before but he gave us a shot. His roommate's girlfriend teased him about blind dates becoming wives and such, but he met me at the party none the less. After that first date he told me he told his roommates that I was the one--how about that?!? We were married 11 months later. It hasn't always been smooth and we almost lost it about a third of the way through, but here we are on our 32nd anniversary.  

When I started graduate school, the first time, my next door neighbor set us up, having him deliver something he had borrowed to me since they were going to be gone for the weekend.  I had met his sister at school and she was working on setting us up also.  Anyway, it worked and we will be celebrating 40 yrs this December. 

Busy day.  DH has OT and PT, vet is coming, and I have my followup eye appt.  Have a great day.

I ordered my husband on the internet...

I had gone through a pretty devastating break up and took some time out, when i felt i was ready to move forward for the right reasons (and not just because i was tired of being alone, that had only led to trouble in the past...) my best friend had signed up for eHarmony and was having a ball. We've both been pretty unlucky in love so far but the guys she was meeting seemed to be really decent. I think she went out on a date or two before she met my (now) husband. they went out once. I met a guy i thought i was really compatible with also, and we were online and on the phone, but face to face there was no chemistry. Throughout our entire date I was thinking how much he had in common with my friend. She broke her second date with my guy and went out with this one instead, and I went out with my husband.

Our date lasted 18 hours and spanned 5 venues (we went to see a friend's band, talked at the diner, went to a park, went to breakfast when it randomly started hailing, and then went to the river). We've spent less than 10 nights apart ever since. we got married a year and five months later and have been pretty inseparable ever since.

My friend and the other guy got married about 7 months after we did.

We like to say that we were so co-dependent that we couldn't find our own guys until we knew our friend was taken care of ;)

It's not 30 years, but I'm only 31, give me time :)

As to how I met dh...I joined match.com BACK when it was free. On Jan 28th, almost 17 years ago, I saw dh's profile and emailed him.

Now this was back when AOL had a 10 HOUR a MONTH free limit and other options were WAY expensive. We met one month later, got married that Sept. Just celebrated 16 years and almost 2 months...or 193 monthaversaries (coming up on 194). The minister that married us celebrated monthaversaries, not anniversaries. He was over 500 at the time. We LOVED the idea and adopted it for ourselves. Most months it's just a happy monthaversary wish but once in awhile we do something to celebrate. Dh has no excuse to forget anniversaries and neither do I...as long as we remember each month.

Nothing real exciting about my story. I've been married 36 years met my husband in school at 15 and we have been together ever since. Nothing like marrying your best friend. :)

We met 10 years ago this month.  I responded to his Yahoo Personals ad.  I did not like him at first because he was not a bad boy with a big ego.  I did not want to go on a second date.  Someone at work said "go on the second date, at least you will get a free meal".  So I went and fell in love.  We have been married for 7.5 years with two beautiful boys 3 and 6.

Congratulations Gina!!  I can definitely tell you two are happy together!

My 2 exes - first one I met while in High school - he went to a different one and we met at a campground our parents went to.
