149 this am. When do I stop feeling fat? And feeling like I look fat. People say I'm skinny but their just being nice .I know I'm not skinny, but when will I see I look better? At 140? Ugh I'm stressing about my weight ! About getting to goal and then staying there. My " honey moon" period will be gone in 3 months. I am told it only lasts about 6 months, then it's a struggle. Lots of anxiety I guess. Wish I knew what I looked liked 😔I feel I've always looked this way, my brain sure can lie to me and I must have fantastic blinders! Have a fast last two days of the week, I'm ready for Saturday!

I'm not sure we EVER stop feeling fat. But then again, many normies also have that issue...they feel fat.

I'm almost 22 months out, have either reached the end of the honeymoon period or bumping up on it (DS's typically get 18 months to 2 years) and well within normal BMI...but I still feel fat cause my stomach looks it compared to the rest of me. I have a "muffin top" that is best hidden by loose fitting tops or cotton. My sister informed me it was inherited and NOTHING I could do to get rid of it at my age (58).

Well, there is one, but without insurance covering it, it ain't gonna happen! And I refuse, simply refuse to wear shapewear (AKA girdles) because I want to use my own stomach muscles to keep my stomach as flat as possible. My grandmother put me in a girdle at 12 cause I was gaining weight...I'm NOT going back that route.

I wear a pair of support panties from Penny's.  I bought an XL and it's just enough to stop the jiggle and make my pants look neater. They are super comfortable.

Hi, I had a RNY and our honeymoon period lasted about a year.  So don't stress anymore, you have to realize people onyl know you at overweight, and this drastic change is new to them. Wait until they tell you have lost tooooo much weight. Then you can really laugh, by then you will be at goal.

As far as you seeing yourself "skinny" it may take a while, for your emotions, brain and memory will catch up with the weight lose. So keep doing what you are doing and enjoy the ride, life is too short to stress. A healthy fear of returning to your old weight will keep you on track.   Take care and congrats on getting this far.

My honeymoon period lasted a lot longer than six months so don't stress (that doesn't help your losing).  If I'm remembering right it took me about 14 months to get to my lowest.  I increased my calories and still maintained for awhile then about 2 years out I gained a little, maintained awhile and then had bounce back.  That's when I knew it was over.

I really don't know of anyone who wasn't at goal and stopped losing at 6 months if they were following the rules. I think most of our LW's have gotten to goal around a year or soon after but that still doesn't mean their honeymoon period was over.

If my scale moves up 1 pound I feel "fat" then I pull on my size 4's and realize that I'm not.  There isn't a morning that goes by that when I pull a pair of underware out of the drawer that I don't think they look to small but they fit perfect.

I think the only way to really convince ourselves is by before/after pictures but some just hate having their pictures taken.

I think the most convincing for me is when I walk past a mirror when I'm out shopping and I have to take a second glance.

I still feel fat many days.  Pull out pants and think there is no way they are going to button, then like magic, they do.  Even looking in the mirror at me and everyone else in weight class I see tummy and hanging arms, not that everyone else is 2x my size.

Maybe someday I won't feel fat.  Right now I just have to worry about not BEING fat.

Breathe, relax ,breathe , relax and repeat ! Sounds like we may have head problems forever . Learning to cope, it's still depressing, but I'm trying. Perhaps I'm stressed with my second job, the state is coming for a home visit plus the fire department, behavior plans I have to write ect.....ahhhhhh

Nikki...sounds like your life is the stressor for sure...you can't fix it so you focus on something you think you can fix...your weight/body image/etc.

As you say, breathe, relax, breathe, relax...

And at some point it does start getting better but everyone has days when we feel like our OLD self not the one staring back at us in the mirror.
