Good Morning. Letting it go but not driving it off a cliff
It's time to let the old 1978 MGB go on to greener pastures. We have a fellow coming from the MGB shop to pick it up today. He's going to restore it and find it a good home. I heard a story on NPR one time about an MGB owner who didn't want to put his old MGB in a junk yard so he drove it off a cliff. lol I think my MGB still has some life in her, so we're going to let her move on to someone that has the time and skills to take care of her. I've so enjoyed her and enjoyed sharing her with you guys. I posted nearly every spring about taking her out and driving her with the top down and getting my vitamin D. Being able to drive her again after my back surgery and WLS was a big WOW for me. Anyway, I thought I'd let you all know she's gone but being taken care of.

Aw, glad she is going to someone to love her. That was my feeling when Chili pony moved this week. Time to move on to a different job.
Shop small Saturday. I don't plan on doing any shopping today but I agree with the concept.

Good on you to let her find a new home now that she is needing to move on...we had a military friend who also had one many years ago and moved it from each assignment....people sure get attached to this cute car! Whenever I see some cute outfit at goodwill that isnt quite right for me.....I try to think that it will match up with the right person...lol. I seriously think I am addicted to goodwill and consignment stores now.
No cliffs needed...

I'm ure U know Gina this is a very wise decision . Though the lil MG complemented U beautifully there are many other wonderful vintage cars out there for U to drive .
I have a good friend who won't let her failing 1979 Porche go .. though she spends far more on maintenance and towing every year than she saves using classic car insurance ( which she would never get reimbursed for anyway as she doesn't park the car in a secure garage as classic car insurance requires lol )
We only have ONE life . Its great to give ourselves he opportunity to move on , try new things , not allow our growth to be held back by( essentially ) hoarding inanimate objects that no longer make sense for our lives .
my DH just bequeathed his 1975 MG Midget to our oldest child. it has followed us around for 40 years and it was time for it to have a permanent home with someone who has the time and money for proper restoration.
We will miss it but are glad we have kept it in the family and have unlimited visiting rights.
