I know I will be ok.... I'm not tired or weak.... I get all my vitamins in on a daily basis and I'm eating 6 to 8 times a day... Including the carbs that I can tolerate.... I was a year out on Nov 15th.. My initial goal weight was 130... I am now at 106.... I no longer dump and in theory can eat and drink just about anything except for sodas because of the carbonation... Every once I'm a while something will do agree with me... And I never thought I would have this problem... But what happens if the weight loss doesn't stop? Is that possible???

Typically we say the body will stop when it's low enough, but I know there's people on here who have gotten too low and not happy about it.  My initial weight was 150, then I hit 121... You body knows...

A year out (and I'm assuming RNY or DS) you are still malabsorbing.  You will be fine.  Trust me.  Your body will redistribute and you will have a "bounce back" which will put you where you should be.

I'm glad to hear you're getting your vitamins in - that's SO important - and fluids.  How's your protein intake - shakes?  The most important thing is to be sure you are taking care of yourself, you're getting vitamins, fluids and protein - the rest will take care of itself.

I'm averaging at 75 of protein a day.... But I do it through food and not shakes.. I burnt out on those early on... I eat extra fish, eggs, meats throughout the day... I get at least 60 in of water, then move to my juices and tea...... I know it's just a matter of time .... And I will start bouncing back... And I have to remind myself that despite everyone tellingly I'm to thin tht at my lowest I was 109..... I know my shape is different, can't go from 240 to 106 and everything go back just as it once was.... Just having one of those moments.. Where havin someone who understands what I'm going through is nice.... Thanks for the reply...

Jeez, I could have written this post.  My highest weight was 240, now 105.  Been stable about a year but not gaining.  A little different because I am a revision and I am unsure about my malabsorption level (long story).  I have a lot of restriction and no hunger.  I eat everything except sugar (I dump) and gluten.  I was just happy my weight loss finally stopped.  At one point I was under 100 lbs so I have bounced back a little.  I do encourage you not to turn to carbs in order to gain some weight.  I have seen many people *****gret doing that.  I managed to regain 100 lbs after my first WLS because I was addicted to refined carbs so I don't want to go down that road again.  I am pretty healthy so it's just a matter of vanity for me since I don't look good at this weight. I am 5'3" and almost 55 years old and being too thin just makes me look older.  I have accepted that I may be this weight a while so I just live with it as long as I don't lose any more.

The way I stopped the weight loss was going heavy on things like nuts and full fat things like sour cream, lots of cheese and gluten free things like crackers and bread in moderation.  I stopped tracking calories because it was too consuming but when I was tracking I was getting in at least 1800 to 2000.  I just wanted to stop working so hard and being so conscious of every thing.  I eat better when I don't worry about it, if that makes sense.  If I do find my weight going up higher then I like then I will start tracking again but I guess writing down everything I ate was making me feel like I was on some kind of diet.

I went lower than I ever imagined I would and looked pretty gaunt for a while.  Are you still in the "normal" BMI range for your height? I would encourage you to up your protein.  If you are still malabsorbing that much, you probably aren't absorbing the protein you need.  Many of us have found we need protein supplements for quite a while, like forever.  How are your labs?  I couldn't keep my protein up without supplements even though I do protein first at all meals.

My labs are good... And my BMI is still in the normal range.... By about .3..... Wow... I didn't ever think I would be under weight.... Lol.... I have so synced myself out over supplemental protein.... I'm kinda like that little kid that even if they're in the other room when you add medication to something, they still know its there...

I have 2 regrets concerning my WLS.  #1 Waiting until I was in my 50's to have it done and #2 Increasing my calories before my body was ready to stop.  I also got to 106 and looking back at the pictures I can't see why everyone told me I didn't look healthy or they asked when I was going to stop losing.

If I had it to do over again I would not worry about maintenance until body had stabilized at it's lowest weight or if I dropped below a normal BMI.

I guess I'm cautiously concerned, but I feel great.... I may look feable but don't feel that way...... I keep track of what I eat so that I don't form the bad habits that got me to 240 in the first place.... I think I'm having more mental issues with trying to enjoy the accomplishment with the weight loss with almost everyone questioning it... I hope that make sense....
