Good Morning. Cats are just easier
I'm just starting to realize how tied down I am with all my animals. I am thinking about moving but who would rent to someone with 4 dogs and a cat? And I can't imagine getting rid of any of them. Fortunately I never go anywhere but in an emergency I am sure my neighbors would help out, or one of my kids.
I laughed when I saw the the title of this thread. Obviously you haven't met Larry.
to be fair he really does think he is a dog. He eats the dogs food and even comes when you call him. He is only 8 months old and he is huge. He is like a live teddy bear. And the softest thing I have ever known.

Speaking of live teddy bears ... I'm sure most of U have met the gorgeous , furry, amenable Mini Me !
He is ( at like 119 years old in human years ) still charmin ' em from coast -to -coast post Sandy lol. The ladies in the bank always ask about him, as do the neighbors , ( and the neighbors kids who want to pull his tail .. Oy ! )
hes a STAR !
I am so not bothered by the fact that he HAS to have cleaned raw chicken breast to survive and thrive every single day at his advanced age ... that he's a tiny tiger who must be jollied along when he wants vet- forbidden ( hi magnesium) items like eggs , rice pudding , hummus ....
what I notice is that he knows so much more than we THINK he knows ( he's an amazing homing -pigeon/living GPS he'll give you meaowed (100 % correct ! ) directions ALL NIGHT LONG Lol ) I mean .. when you're 1/4 mile from switching interstates and he starts going off until you actually TURN off , then is 100 % quiet until the NEXT turn ... you say HAVE to say hmmm.....
He always loves to stare out the car window and learn more about the world ....
There is noone human or not who has been there more for me in times of health-distress than Mini-me ... ill never forget how he paced the floor right alongside Mommy every fifteen minutes in the months of her WLS recovery .... He never gave up on me .. and i will never give up on him..... or ever leave him behind .
right now we are staying in a hotel post Sandy . He is an honored guest on a non- pet floor . Thats cuz the manager says he's a BABY and a Darling not a pet . I guess Mini me made another conquest lol ...
He's traveled with me across the country SEVERAL times .. sneaking into the Hampton in a handbag every night ... ( dont think he EVER pops his head out or tries to run ... that would be simply undignified and stoopid which hes NOT . He's a COOL DUDE ...
He even can pee and poo on the side of the road on a leash when he doesnt have his in- car litterbox !
We usually have a line of neighbors volunteering to take care of him if we go away ... but we try to leave him as absolutely closest to the non-cat -friendly destination as possible with a responsible person. Incidentally , he looks totallly worn out and a million years older from worry when we pick him up ... he absolutely detests being treated like a cat !
