FIBER SNACK/MEALS twice a day! (without meat added so I have more room for the fiber)

For right now, 3 months and 1.5 weeks out, constipation has reached a point where I had to try a different tactic and it has worked AND the weight loss rate has increased now for 3 weeks while I experimented with the solution. I won't go into it but Miralax & fiber supplements began to backfire in a most unpleasant way so I had to change tactics. I am still able to take my Vicodan and be "regular" although I am fortunate to be able to take it less now that more weight has come off.

FIRST FIBER SNACK/MEAL IN MORNING:  example: Kashi GoLean twig cereal (13g protein & 10g fiber)

then 2 regular meals high in protein

SECOND FIBER SNACK/MEAL IN LATE AFTERNOON: same as first snack or a variation like steamed vegetables w/cheese & baked beans

then final meal of the day high in protein

All of the above but I think the main difference between my first (failed) WLS and now is that I totally avoid sugar and gluten products.  I don't really watch carbs anymore but I avoid refined carbs when possible.

I do what many of you do but two additional things that have been important are exercise (and challenging myself with new things when needed) ......each day I also start with coffee and eventually a protein coffee and this starts my day RIGHT!

2nd best thing... I have not tested the sugar waters since surgery and this has been a great decision for me (and not planned).  Haven't had bread, pasta, etc either since surgery...NEVER thought I could do this.  The weight loss has been slow so glad to know I REALLY have done everything I could.....also focusing on NOT using food inappropriately as well.
Never could do low carb presurgery!

Best of luck to everyone...we all need a variety of tools in our toolbox.

p.s. Gina hope you are surviving the week of presentations...I hate doing them too but am usually told I did just fine.  You got this!!!!

Thanks so much for this Gina!  As a prebie and soon a newbie, I look forward to reading all of this advice!

Thanks, Diana

If I  have a "mis-step",  forgive myself and move on.

Get all my protein in plus plenty of fluids.
