Good Morning. Heavy hearted
Gina,
Thanks so much for including the link to this board in your signature! It's not easy finding support when you're so short that you weigh less at the beginning of the journey than some people do at goal weight! I'm 4'9" so size 22 and 200lbs+ was morbidly obese for me, but WLSrs and Drs didn't think my weight was high enough to warrant acknowledgement, let alone treatment.
I had VBG in 2001, lost 50lbs and gained it back. Had RNY 1/16/12 and went from size 22 to size 2 in 10 months.
I started avoiding newscasts after the Colorado incident- so I found out about the shooting at my local mall from my boss, when she inquired about the whereabouts of my teenage daughter (who fortunately was at home and not at the mall that day!) I've tried to block out the news about CT because letting it bring me down won't bring those children back.
I just try to express gratitude and stay positive.
Smile even if you have to fake it. You will never know when it has made a monumental difference to someone. What if my customer sees me before he plans an act of violence. What if my smile raises his spirits for that day and he makes better plans instead? I choose to believe that this makes a difference, and because I choose this, it makes a difference.
Glad you're here. : )
