Should I call doctor, afraid of postponement
Well I am 17 days away from my new beginning. On friday I started two antibiotics, steriods, and breathing treatments for acute bronchitis. I am still not feeling any better. My sugars are whacking out.
Doc called today and my vitamin d level is 7!!!! So, i am scarred between all of these things they might postpone me. I have been waiting since August. That was wehn I was approved and surgey was scheduled. She is so full.
Okay, find D3, and start it now. As a pre-op you can handle the oil based. AFTER surgery you will neeed dry to absorb it.
I was told last night if I did NOT feel better from my bronchitis to get back to the ER...call your doc as soon as you can and ask for his input. IF you don't get any better between now and when they open back up on Wed, go to the ER...it's not something to mess with.
IF you still aren't any better by the end of THIS week, call next Monday and let your surgeon know...it may delay you but you need to be well to heal.

My D level was in single digits pre op also. They didnt hold it against me for surgery date. I hope you feel better, the meds will start workings for you soon :)

the D is an issue but you can still have surgery. Order Vitalady's D3 50,000 u tonight and get it and start taking one a day. Even at that, it took mine a few months to come up.
The bronchitis is more of an issue. You need to be able to breath and pnumonia is an issue after surger for everyone. I would at least let your surgeon know. I hope you are much better and able to have surgery in 17 days. That should be enough time if they have you on the right antibiotics.
I'll be swinging critters that you heal quickly and don't have to delay your WLS.

google Vit D and see all the things it does for you. It is very important in controlling lots of things and is one of the things we malabsorb after surgery. So if you can get it up now, so much the better. 80-100 is a good level. vitalady has a 50,000unit which is the highest I have seen and that is what I used to bring my level up. I really felt like my energy level came up when I got my level up after surgery. You can do 50,000u a day for a while to get your level up then back it off some.
