I likely have peripheral neuropathy...

I've had neuropathy in my right thigh for years and years. I went to a neurologist at one point who did every test under the sun, starting with testing for MS, after months he could find no reason for it. I've lived with it, and it hasn't spread so I thought okay whatever.

Fast forward to 6 weeks post op when my hands, legs, feet started "going to sleep" all the time. Every time I crossed my legs or sat in a chair for a while. If I laid my arms on an armrest a certain way. Like you I researched it online and decided to start taking sbulingual B-12, something my doctor doesn't recommend until after levels are drawn showing you need it. It started to subside but was still there just less frequent. I also started having pain in my hip and lower back so I went to a chiropractor. He is a wonderful doctor who took a complete history and took it upon himself to research it between visits.

He found in his research that there is a nerve that often becomes pinched when women are pregnant that was likely causing the neuropathy in my leg. He did some adjustments and accupuncture at following 3 appts. I have feeling back in my thigh now, where I didn't for 20 years. Is it "normal" no, but it is very much improved. The tingling in my feet and hands have pretty much stopped, whether from the b12 or the adjustments I don't know but my b12 level is sitting around 1045 now.

I'm sharing my story for one reason, if you go to a doctor and don't get any answers keep going to other doctors until you can find someone to help you. Had I found my chiropractor back when I went to the neurologist I could have possibly had "normal" feeling in that leg again.

Thank you for your information. I do have spinal injuries so it is a good reminder to remember about alternative treatments in case they can help, too.

No words of wisdom...just prayers.

I know when I have felt alone, or didnt understand something, reaching out can help a lot.  It sounds like there are some folks on here with good input and experience with PN.  Hope your physician can help you....it may not be as bad as it seems.

Sending healing thoughts....
