WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with good choices during the Honeymoon Period!!!!!
I'm so mad!!! I scorched my ham/bean soup....how dumb! I told DH we are eating it any how because it cost to much to make and throw away. I'm waiting to see what kind of fuss he puts up.
Did anyone watch Dr. OZ on the Today show this morning? http://video.today.msnbc.msn.com/today/50384627#50384627 I really like that guy but what do you think about him and his ideas? Here was his advice for today:
1. Don't eat the same foods every day. Mix it up. He started out by saying to take 1 or 2 bites of simple carbs like a bite of a friends donut every 3 days then wa**** down with water to clean your taste buds. He says it will keep your metabolism going.
2. Hunger pains in your stomach mean you are having withdrawals from something you ate. Real hunger feels uncomfortable in you neck and chest areas.
3. Have an egg for breakfast and it will fill you up for a long time. That's one of the reasons I don't eat eggs because they make me feel uncomfortable like they are stuck.
4. He also said to use the 4 - 3- 2 - 1 method every day ( I think he said it was from Biggest Losers). 4 fruits and vegetables, 3 Protein, 2 whole grains, and 1 fat, oil, or sweet ( equaling 200 calories).

1. I don't know about the simple carb thing, esp a donut. That seems extreme. Maybe a piece of chocolate would do the same thing.
2. Have never heard that about hunger pains. How many of us ever really feel hunger? I know when I started thinking about being hungry again from surgery, I felt empty, but not really hungry. Now often when I think I am hungry, I am thirsty.
3. I have eggs or eggbeaters for breakfast almost every morning and I do think it keeps me full for quite a while.
4. If you count protein drinks, I have 5 protein, 3 veggie/fruit, 0-1 grain, 1-2 fat,oil or sweet
