What works can vary from person to person I think. But wondering how many carbs you average at maintenance. During wl phase I have kept carbs around 40. No Carb cravings at that level. Nervous about increasing carbs for maintenance as I have 5 lbs to go until goal. I have started with carbs from vegetables like squash and a little fruit. Keeping protein first still main goal.

What you're thinking is exactly spot on. Carbs from veggies and limited fruit is fine in maintenance. I try to stay under 100 net carbs a day but even that is too high and I'm seeing a little regain at 5 years post-op. I'd probably better off at 70 net grams of carbs post-op. This is even with a super malabsorptive WLS. You may need to stay with what you're currently doing long term.

I don't track anymore regularly but my rule of thumb is veggies are fine including beans and the carbs in dairy.  Then I try to stick to one carby thing a day, no more.  So a tiny potato, corn, whole grain bread thing, fruit would be my 1 carb for the day if I am going to have a carb that day, don't always.  That seems to work for me,
