Good Morning. Running Late

You guys may remember that we had to put our oldest dog, and my built-in alarm clock, down just before Christmas. Well, I discovered that she was the primary reasons I was waking up so early every morning. She didn't have to wake me, but I would wake up in anticipation of having to get up and take her out, pick her up and take her in, pick her up and put her in front of her food and water, pick her up and move her next to me at the computer, etc. She's gone now and I have to set an electric alarm clock and I can actually sleep later, which putsmeinabitofarushinthemornings! Y'all have a good one!

I know you still miss your dog but now in more ways than you thought.  I can actually sleep till 7 some mornings.  I don't set a clock unless I HAVE to be somewhere early, which is almost never.

Lots going on today.  House is being pressure washed, vet coming, dog going to the groomer, DH going to therapy, meeting tonight, still finishing up stuff for CARF next week.  It's almost warm and I can't go drive my pony for all the stuff.  Darn.

I know you miss your dog...it's never easy to do that but they trust us to do what is best for them when the time comes.

But sleeping later, while makes you feel rushed in the morning, is good for you...yoou were running on little sleep for quite awhile.

We get up when we are ready (usually when a cat walks across my kidneys). But being retired is nice in that we don't have to have an alarm clock 99% of the time.

My dog is ruling my schedule. So I can understand where you were!!!! The things we do outta love. Some kids don't get as much as we give our pets!

I was on the sofa in the living room last night because the Dixie cup of water I gave my dog wasn't the water out of his bowl in the kitchen!!! So it's a coffee morning for sure -- maybe a day!!!

Hope your day is good!!!!

My alarm went off and I shut it off and rolled back over - an hr later I got up - ugh.  So yes, I was runninglatetoo... then there was an accident that had traffic all backed up...

When I'm in MI I don't set an alarm.  I typically go to bed between 10-11pm there and wake up about 7:30.  Those are perfect times for me.  The alarm going off at 5:30 I consider, very rude :-)

I get up real late because I teach night school two days per week and all day on one day per week. The rest is taught online (each class has a portion online) so I'm up real late and get up at different times of the morning. It always feels like I'm in a rush to catch up. It's hard to get a schedule until I'm off for a long time like the break between summer and fall quarter. I've have misunderstandings with the doctor's staff over saying for lunch I had "this" (and then the next sentence refer to the same meal as breakfast) and yet it was my first meal of the day at noon. I know animals are hard to lose and we often find little things we miss. Their little tuffs of fur here and there. Their pawsteps down the hall.

I know my sleep would be so much better if I didn't have 4 dogs and a cat in bed with me.  They wake me up frequently through out the night.  I have to fight to have room in my bed.  I would love to get them out of my bed but when I put them out they sit outside my door all night crying and scratching the door.  I regret the day I allowed them to sleep with me.  It wasn't too bad when I just had 2 but now it is too many and they are too spoiled.

It was funny though the other night when I woke up and found Larry in my arms.  Larry is my huge cat.  He is still a kitten but he weighs about 13 lbs now, a baby in a big body.  I woke up to find him curled up like a little baby in my arms.

After JJ died it was strange because he was so needy.  He kept me up the most.  He had a thing where he would scratch at my arms, lightly at first and them harder and harder until I lifted the covers and let him crawl under with me.  Even the day he died he did that and I knew it  took all his strength and I knew it wouldn't be long but he still managed to do what he did every night.  Now his daughter, Princess does that sometimes and it always makes me smile.

I recently got a new bed and it's really high.  Before JJ couldn't get on the bed by himself so I got some pet stairs.  Princess would use them, too, but now none of the dogs can get up by themselves so that means I get woken up several times to lift a dog back into the bed.  At least Larry can get up by himself.  The pet stairs are too small to reach my bed so I need to find some that are taller so I can get a little more rest.
