Before I decided to have WLS I thought I would ******vous wreck right before the surgery.  But I wasnt....I had thought long and hard and was as prepared as possible and knew that it was the right decision for me.  Normally I get VERY anxious when it comes to anything medical....I had never been in the hospital before and needles freak me out.  I am so glad I wasnt an anxious mess and I wish you the best of luck.  I will say this though....during the first 2 weeks I did experience a few "what the heck did I do???" moments....and my anxiety did flare.  BUT, not since those weeks have I ever thought that again and now at almost two years out sometimes I forget I even had WLS.  It is amazing to have gotten healthy and to be "normal" sized.

Please post on here when you need to and good luck!!

Blessings,

Jennifer

I was calm.  I had been through several surgeries before so I knew what to expect and I was ready.  The day before with clear liquids I thought I wasn't going to make it through.  Around 3pm I was so hungry but I just kept drinking and remembering why.  Get past 3 today and you will be fine.  Lots of broth and high sodium drinks because you need to fluids going into surgery.

Here's to a textbook surgery and a boring recovery.  I'm scooting down on the losers bench for you.
