Good Morning. How do you stay hydrated?

A question so our new folks can get some ideas....  Be careful out there this morning, it's awful cold around the country.  If you're out and about always have some protein and fluids in your car, and a blanket.

Accounting for daily fluids: B - 2 protein coffees = 28oz, S - protein coffee = 14oz, diet cranberry juice throughout the morning = 14oz+, L - protein shake = 14oz, S - diet Pepsi = 12oz , diet cranberry juice the rest of the afternoon = 14oz, diet cranberry juice throughout the evening 28oz.  Total 116 oz on a good day

Yep it's cold here.

I start with 2 protein decafs, about 35oz.  then I do a 1/2 strengh protein/crystal light drink before lunch and between lunch and supper.  Those are 26oz each.  Then a protein shake, 10oz after supper.  Sometimes I switch a hot tea in there or a hot chocolate protein but they are 26oz also.  That ends up 97ish.  Not including the water with vits.

meeting in SC with lunch, eye dr, muscle pump.  Busy day.

Start with coffee (I don't do protein coffee as I just don't like how mine tastes...and the protein I have is the only one I can manage)

2 coffee's 40 oz, then I switch to decaf splenda sweetened tea and keep at it all day. Container holds about 24 oz and I refill it three times during the day. Other drink I have is homemade lemonade sweetened with splenda.

Staying inside today...except for a run to Home Depot to get replacement fuses...dh got up this morning to a blown one in the kitchen. He replaced it but now we do not have a backup.

I had my two year follow up yesterday. My D is in the toilet, and dh had to bring it to my attention as the nut didn't even bother. I did ask her if we (DS'er's) malabsorbed fat, why was the office advocating LOW fat? She said too much caused diarrhea...told her if I didn't get enough, constipation was my problem and then gave her an example of how much I INHALED every day to stay normal! She has the OLD BPD on the brain. I do NOT like my surgeon's follow up...it is dangerous info for a DS'er.

Good morning! It's so cold here that the heated buckets have been having a little slush on top by morning.

I can't drink coffee but do drink hot green tea. I also put coconut oil in it to make sure I get enough fat. I never do anything without a drink in my hand. I also drink water, soda from the sodastream, diet soda when I'm out and 3 cups of half and half a day. If I can't have half and half for some reason then I use vitamin D milk.

I have 16 oz of coffee each morning, sometimes more.  I have 3, 32 ounce bottles and a 20 oz bottle and a 16 oz bottle that i fill with homemade stevia sweetened fresh lemon, lemonade. This adds up to 114 oz a day and I STRIVE,seriously strive to empty them all e very day.  I also have been having several cups of Tummy Mint  hot tea a day to help with reflux. that would be another  24 ounces to total 172 oz.

I do my very best drinking in the car. I can down 64 oz really quick in there cause I can focus on drinking and driving, lol. I NEVER and I mean NEVER,leave home without all my bottles that still have drink in them, and my snacks. I even just take them down to the little market down the street, cause you never know what is going to happen.

It is 1020 am in Nashville, cold as a witches tit and I have already had 48 oz and am a little behind.

Saying hydrated is rarely a problem for me.  I am constantly thirsty.  It may be a side effect of medication but I have been this way for years, causing me to worry that I was diabetic or had  another problem.  I keep a case of water in my car all the time.  I always have a bottle in my hand.  At home I drink herbal tea, coffee and water with sugar free flavoring.  In fact, I try to stop drinking an hour before bed so I don't use the bathroom all night but it rarely works.  I drink at least a gallon a day and usually more.  I already have a reputation at work because I keep a make up case on my desk filled with drink sticks and everyone wants to know about them and why I drink them all day.  I worry because I spend a lot of time filling my water bottle and using the bathroom.

It is supposed to be icy on the roads today so I will probably stay inside since I don't have to go anywhere.  I have my grand daughter and she is watching movies.  She may spend the night again if it is still icy on the roads because I won't drive on it if it isn't an emergency.

I start my day with 2 protein coffees which equals 24 oz. After that, it will vary a little, but I have something to sip on at my desk all day. I have a 16 oz water bottle and I count how many times I refill it. I also have 16 oz hot cups at work that I'll use if I want tea. I will sometimes have a Nectar shake as a snack, 8 oz, or a regular protein shake later in the day, again 8 oz. When I go to Starbucks with friends, I order a Grande because it is 16 oz. I purposely try to make it easy to keep track of.

Wow!  I never thought I could add my coffee or tea to my daily fluid intake total.  I was always told that was a no-no because of the caffeine.  Knowing I can makes things so much easier.  So let me see for yesterday...

Upon waking up - water = 8 oz; Before breakfast - coffee w/ creamer = 8 oz; Breakfast - Protein shake = 12 oz; Throughout the day - Water w/ Dasani Drops =  60 oz; Afternoon "pick me up" - Green tea = 8 oz; Evening drink (to take my vitamins) - Protein drink = 8 oz.  TOTAL FOR YESTERDAY = 104 oz... not as bad as I thought!
