Southern girl here too. I learned not to wear summery ,thin cotton white pants after labor day or before Easter. We have always worn heavy,winter white often wool with a lining white pants in the winter. it is all about the fabric,lol.
Personally I don't wear much white, just as accents. This is because whenever I wear white, dirt says "attack" and then the clothes aren't white anymore. I also live in a windy desert with cats.
