If you are wondering- Hernia repair with a scar revision hurts!!!
I finally had my incision hernia repaired on Thursday. Although the repair was done open, I did not have to stay overnight. My surgeon was able to repair it without the use of mesh and the plastic surgeon then removed the open DS scar and some additional excess skin and tightened up my tummy.
Boy, Oh boy, oh Boy. Today is the first day I am up and out and I am still very sore but off of any pain medication. It has gotten better, I can get on and off the toilet without assistance and driving didn't make me cry but after a 1/2 day in the office I am 100% ready to go home and climb back into my recliner.
This is a tough recovery, but like the DS, I keep telling myself the rewards are greater than the discomfort I feel now.

I can't believe after an open surgery, you are back at work in less than a week?!?!
I'm sure you are sore and ready to go home. Please take care of yourself. Rest and get lots of fluids.

You had major surgery! It will take time to heal - and basically it sounds like you had a tummy tuck - I know it took me several weeks to start feeling "normal" again after mine - in addition to an OPEN procedure - those definitely take longer... I was off work for 4 weeks with mine...
Don't overdo it - get your protein and liquids!
