Am I DOING OK?
Chill.
When else have you lost over 5 lbs a week for 4 weeks in a row? Don't look at those folks who have 200 lbs to lose. Yes, they are going to lose more pounds but you are losing the same or more % of your excess pounds.
If you follow the rules, you will lose. You will not fail. You have probably lost about the same or more than most lightweights do the first month.

Are you in a hurry to get somewhere? You started out with about 100 lbs to lose. You have lost over 1/5th of that in a month. I think that is excellent. It kind of reminds me of when someone was complaining about how they would be 50 by they time they finished their degree in a few years and another person asked "How old will you be if you don't finish your degree?"
This isn't a race, this is forever. You could lose a pound a week and still hit your goal in about a year and a half. Yes that sounds like a long time and also very unlikely to take that long but the point is, where would you be in a year and a half if you didn't have the surgery? The way I looked at it after my revision is if even if I didn't lose another pound I would be ahead if I didn't continue to gain. I was putting on about 10 lbs a month by then so my maintaining I would be a lot better off then if I didn't have surgery.
I hope I am making sense. I am not being uncompassionate. We have all been there. We want the weight off yesterday but like they say, you didn't gain it over night (although I sure felt like I did) and you won't lose it over night. Don't compare yourself to others. You will lose more then some and less then others but the important thing is that in a year or two you really won't care how fast it came off, only that it's gone and will stay that way if you continue to do what you need to do.
I also think that losing weight slower makes it a bit easier to learn how to keep it off since you won't have to make any real drastic changes when maintenance comes. Believe me, you think losing weight is hard? Wait until you get to the fun of keeping it off. Something I have always failed at even though I really was a pro at losing weight. God knows I did it enough times. I can't even remember how many times I lost 50 plus pounds but I can remember how many times I stayed the same size from one year to the next. One, and that is since my revision. That to me is the real success.
