Mindless grazing versus planned snacks, and the fact that I'm 5 1/2 years out...not a good combination.  Popcorn is for after goal, get there first and you can have a little popcorn but you have to account for the carbs.

This post made me realize how far I've come... I used to be the unstoppable grazing monster lol ... ALL my life .  Now , i have to  clear out the leftover food from my fridge each week  because i eat hardly  anything compared to what my eyes bring in lol .

I guess food is not my focus any more .  Not that I'm thin .. mind U  .. but  a normal or small portion actually  seems to be enough for me these days .  Its very important to get vitamins in ...and i try to drink a lot of tea herbal and otherwise .  I feel  very healthy ... and ifi do make some food its going to be of the  chopped salad / tabouleh  made with fresh oranges hebs and tomatoes variety  etc .

I do think salt ( and excess sugar ) can be a very unhealthy addiction in and of itself  .  I recently drove to Florida and back and  ate fast food on the way and  boy did I feel  groggy bloated and downright SICK .  Thoes dollar burgers didnt taste that good either .. nor were they cheap when you factor in the fries , the overall cost  etc.

And I did notice that when i started eating this way suddenly a whole   world of fast -food opportunities  seemed to tempt me .  They are ADDICTIVE  , nasty food items !

((((()))))  I eat what I want , when I want , don't stint on the taste , the cost , the freshness .  Its my HEALTH  at stake .  When I eat right .. I don't want to KEEP eating anymore   thank God .

You know, I was thinking of myself sipping hot tea as a way of avoiding mindless grazing and it just might work.

well, i hope i am on my way to feeling better now that i have started the vitalady vites. however, i know that i do need to watch what i eat. for some reason i dont seem to be able to curb the sugar monster in me, especially in my coffee. even though i am 5 lbs from my goal weight, my eating really hasnt changed tremendously, thus i dont feel all that great. .my surgery was in 2007. i have lost 160 lbs.

i am going to order the vanilla protein powder and truvia to try in my coffee which should eliminate my sweet craving especially in the am. i have got to get things under control and feeling better. spring is coming and i do want to gain the strength i lost when i crashed last july. i want to walk.

i know some of my symptoms are due to the medications i am on for depression and sleep. it has been a lifelong battle. both meds i am on are weight gainers and food is always on my mind. i wonder if i tried having more shakes when i feel hungry if that would help. im so worried about gaining weight. can you ever over due the amount of protein shakes?

i think i remember seeing one persons post that if they were up a few lbs they would resort to just shakes for a few days. although i cringe at the idea of not being able to chew something, it may be an option to help me shed 5 lbs.

i think i need more accountability! feeling a bit discouraged lately :(

I'm trying to curb the mid-morning cravings with another protein coffee or chai tea. Doing ok with this strategy, we'll see.
