Huneypie,

I don't know how I missed this link you posted a week ago...THANK YOU! It seems you and I started at about the same weight and have about the same goal.  I'd like to keep in touch - it would encourage me.  Thanks again for the helpful link. :-)

I am wondering about your thyroid levels , including T-3 and T-4. Has it been checked?

Thank you, Lauren.  Just knowing that others understand and care really helps. I head to CA to see Dr. K on 3/18! Hoping he can help - maybe a revision?? I'll let you all know!

Update: Wouldn't you know it? I'm supposed to leave THIS Saturday for CA to meet with Dr. Keshishian to discuss whether or not I should have revision of my common and/or alimentary channels...and I get my FIRST BOUT with KIDNEY STONES this week!! Horrendous pain began last Friday, sending me to the E.R. It's true what they say: the pain IS worse than labor pains - even the ones during transition!! I couldn't even catch my breath.  Tomorrow I see a urologist with all my test results, but it looks like he probably will do nothing, other than offer more pain meds - and flomax, hopefully, because the stones (between 3 and 4 mm each) are considered 'small' enough to pass naturally. The sharp pains are less frequent now, with more constant ache in my right kidney - I can live with this.

Any anti-kidney-stone-formation drug I can request from the urologist, to prevent this from happening again? I have already researched a lot and know I need to INCREASE my calcium citrate & MCHC (take with food) and decrease my oxylate intake - which will be difficult, because I love cheeses and dairy.

My question...any of you out there who have had kidney stones - do you think I should reschedule my trip to CA? It is a cross country trip, since I live in NY - with a stop in Denver.  I'm just not sure if I can handle jostling around in a plane - or pulling my luggage thru the terminal.  At the same time, I have waited nearly 2 mos. for this appt - hotel, rental car - everything is set. So disapppointing if I cancel now.

You have all been so encouraging! Thanks again.
