Newbie here-BMI 38

Hi all, I'm back.

Well I found out that I had to go to my PRIMARY CARE md  before anything.  LOL!  I'm all crazy thinking about my intake appt next week!  My advocate said I have to have a letter of intent and documentation that I AM 237 pounds and BMI is 38.8.  SOOOOO  I went to my primary care physician today and she was wonderful and so supportive!  YAY!  

She did all the letters and said she would help me.  I have to go back to her for three consecutive months and weigh in in order for insurance to pay for the surgery.  She said it would take a year...??? I wonder what that meant???  Anyway I have the intake appt with the nurse practitioner at the Hospital next week and will ask him how long will this take till I have a surgery date.  I'll know a lot more when I see him.  I'm thinking and please correct me on this, but as soon as insurance approves, I should be good to go, right??
