BMI puts me as overweight. Body fat is actually a better indicator of your health because it takes in account of fat mass and lean body mass. That's why bodybuilders can be classified as overweight with BMI but actually have very little fat.
Thanks! Some days it's easier than others. I think due to being obese at one point I always let the scale bother me now.

I don't understand about body fat numbers etc. Where does a 26 BMI put you? I'm sure with all of my loose skin and saggy rolls my body fat is way to high but my BMI says I'm in the normal range for my height and I'm going to stick with that. I also don't have any muscle...
. Be kind to yourself!!!!

I eat anywhere from 100-130 grams of protein. Carbs I vary from day to day but never go over 100 unless I had a heavy heavy leg day. I do still weigh, measure and log my food daily. I think he told me to eat more to make sure I was recovering from my weight lifting sessions. I don't lift light weights, I lift heavy. In order to improve my strength I had to increase some with healthy fats and protein. My range is still pretty broad depending on the day. It has been as low as 800 to as high as 1500.

I am putting on muscle. My body fat is just not where I want it to be. My BMI yesterday was 26 and my body fat was 28%
I do still enjoy my protein and drink plenty during the day! I think maybe I need to start posting on here more often, too. I still lurk around here from time to time though :)

Nice to see you posting!!! It sounds like you are doing everything right. I think it takes longer to get to goal with the VSG. The fact that you are still with a trainer and logging what you eat shows you are committed to this.
I'm sure your measurements have showed a huge change in your body. Are you firming up? Have you built up muscle? Muscle weighs more.... maybe that's part of the problem. Are you close to a normal BMI? Personally I never exercised during the loosing stage because I knew I wasn't going to do it the rest of my life.
Small numerous meals (more like snacks), Low carb and HIGH protein is what works for me. I BELIEVE in good WHEY Protein drinks!!!
Posting on this site REALLY keeps me going!!!!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!
YES....IT'S FRIDAY!!!!! I'm soooo glad the end of my work week is finally here!! Love my job but it has been a stressful week for me.

What are you eating? Calories? Carbs? Protein? I don't believe in eating more to lose weight. I have never seen that work. Most people eat more than they think they are which is why weighing, measuring, and logging every bite is so important.
You can still reach your goal but you have to make the commitment to yourself to do what it takes.

Hey y'all! It has been a while since I have posted. I am 2.5 years post op with vsg. I have still never reached my goal. Anyone else like this and eventually succeeded? I have been exercising 3-6 days a week since I was cleared from surgery, so 6 weeks post op i think ?, I still watch everything I eat(still track it!). I have worked with a trainer and a trainer with a background in nutrition for about 3 months. I saw no weight loss or gain during that time. He did say that he thought I did not eat enough and that I should up my calories. I know that scientifically that makes sense, but from a WLS POV it seems crazy! My workouts do include heavy lifting though..
Anyways- advice? Am I going to forever be stuck in the 130s? I am worried about the 3 year bounce back, too. Not looking forward to ANY bounce back. I just wonder if this is a LW problem as to why I didn't reach goal.
