WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

I always get my blood work script through my PCP. No one cares about keeping me healthier like my own Doctor.
Sounds Good!

Afternoon LW's!!!! Left Overs Today. Had to clean out my Fridge. Grandkids want pizza tonight. I've done pretty good today with my Protein so I'm going to splurge and get a Personal Pan with bacon and veggies. Probably 2 pieces today and 2 tomorrow (unless the boys eat it).

I'm not familiar with Halo but CarbSmart is a Breyer's product and our local grocer sells it in popsicle form and by the 1/2 gallon. It's sweetened with Splenda and only has 4 grams of carbs by the 1/2 cup. Oh, and not expensive...pretty comparable to most other ice creams. Give it a try!

You're doing great. Keep educating and advocating for yourself. Definitely have those labs done ASAP. Iron can be especially hard for us to bring up orally.

Is the carb smart ice cream like Halotop? I looked for Halo but 5 bucks a pint I opted out of ice cream. lol

Today was my 6 week post op check up although tomorrow I am 7 weeks out.... I saw the NP in place of the doc. Was able to get my B12 spray refilled and cleared to workout. I am amazed and disappointed in the way the office treats everyone the same. The cookie cutter approach does not work for me but thankfully I have educated myself so I am a low maintenance patient but am not like some. So I asked the doc about my prior viatamin panels and how the last test was 5 mos ago.. she was not receptive and my tests will not be for another 4. I will ask my PCP to check the ones I am worried on. B12, D (super low las time) and Iron as I was not required to take an iron supplement I want to watch it.
I asked about working out.. I love my weights I have worked 2 years on building muscle under my fat and want to maintain my lean mass so much I track fat vs lean mass loss on an excel sheet. So I asked about lifting and hernia risks.. Her first reply is well you can go back to working out with your trainer and using resistence bands. I said what about weights?? Oh well its not like your gunna lift 50 pound weights so your fine.. I said ummmmm Yes I do lift that plus some... I think she had an Ahha moment that she can not assume we are all the same.. But did clear me to return to my bench presses and dead lifts. Just start slow and listen to my body. YAY!!!!! Sorry for long story but want to just show how much self education you need at times because the DRs at times are busy and if you do not speak up or reseach you may fall between the cracks of the cookie cutter.
After that I assisted my hubby on installing a closet organizer for my 13 yr old dtrs upgraded room and had a nice day.. :)
My Menu:
B- Coffee (didnt eat before doc)
S- 1/4C all whites and a turkey sausage patty (my late breakfast)
L- 1oz lean low sodium turkey 1 oz Mild cheddar cheese
S- 10 salted stick pretzels
D- 2 oz Salmon baked and 2 oz green peas.
Have a blessed evening all... :)
