Hey There!
I see you have been researching and asking around ...which is great!
I opted for the DS/BPD because it had the VSG plus the Mal-Absorb aspects. All my co-morbs are gone and I had them all... When I talked with the different groups the DS bunch seemed much happier and little complaints...Good luck , Jeff

I had been getting between 70-80 grams since my October visit with my surgeon. I had labs done in December and my prealbumin level was low, so he suggested I increase my protein to 100 or more to get that back up.

I have another appointment in the office in February and I'm going to ask for follow-up labs. Lately (last 2 weeks?) I've been feeling especially tired and sluggish. My PCP told me to ask them to order B12 injections to help with energy. I really hope it helps, I'm back to napping every day. :(

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.

I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!!  It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

Last full week of January.  A little closer to spring...!!  Had a competition all day yesterday.  15 teams and 15 first places....YEAH!    So many specialty awards I lost track!  I ate decent at the competition.  Took my own plain popcorn, nut bar and of course my Protein drink. Bought a walking taco with extra protein (concentrated on the toppings).  No sweets or junk food and low carb.

I make them myself and keep a batch of them in the freezer. Here's a link, Protein Waffles. I either make them into a small sandwich or spread some butter on it, kinda like toast. I grew up with fresh baked waffles dusted with powdered sugar, so I'm not too much into syrup. I also have some P28 spreads that taste pretty yummy on a toasted waffle.

I love meatloaf, too. It's so easy to store and it freezes well. It stays juicy and I can eat it for days. Most other foods don't reheat as well and I usually pass on leftovers. I've had food get stuck a few times and it is one of the most uncomfortable feelings I've experienced. Ick!
