Topic: RE: Trying not to freak out!
First off welcome back ...even though I was last here 4 years ago ...lol... I understand the freak out . I too gained a bit. Goal weight at 180-185 but up to 200 several times ...today at 185 ish. I am six years out now but was concerned about the gain. I take in Average portions but the gain made me cut back a little everyday til I was eating small for awhile.
I am a DSer so things are probably different for me than you . As for being Lightweight group I agree about the other groups being less than nice sometimes. I found this forum and for as long as I was around, the light weights were so kind and generous with their advice.
My stomach has got bigger and holds about 14 oz if I let it .
When I eat small, as you did I cut out bread and most cheese...everyone puts cheese on everything! The low sugars tend to require eating again so I drink a small can of pineapple juice or eat a glucose tablet. You can't will the loss but you can remember some of those things that brought you losses. As a minister I pray and meditate to relieve stress and depression maybe that might work for you too. take care friend ...Jeff

Hi Roz!!!!,
Been absent for awhile. Was hoping some familiar people were around . I see your blog is still kickin'.
I guess I find it difficult to relate as I am not typical on protein or vitamins and don't wish to discourage others.
I somehow received a friend request after this long and it reminded me how wonderful you can be here at OH .Thanks again ...Jeff

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.

I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!!  It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them! LW's!!!

Morning LW's!!  We got our first snow of the year!!  The 3 yr. old grandson didn't remember snow and he is so excited.  He is a shorts kind of kid.  Refuses to wear long pants...lol.  I just got a picture from DD with his shorts, winter coat, and boots on.  He was checking out the snow on their deck.  OH TO BE YOUNG AGAIN!!!!

First Cheer comp of the season.  Took 12 teams and had 10 firsts and 2 seconds. They each lost by a point.  I guess one gym can't win everything....LOL. No matter how great it is to always be on top it does get embarrassing when you hear your teams being called out over and over again locally.

I did pretty good with my eating yesterday and drank a protein drink and lots of water.  It's always a challenge when you go to the competitions.  They offer fast kid type foods.  On the way home we stopped at Kings and I got roast beef with a little gravy and substituted the carbs with a cup of vegetable soup.

I'm making ham and bean soup today.  That will last us a couple of days.  Then Wednesday I start cooking for Thanksgiving.  Having at least 21 this year.

Topic: RE: Week 5 of doing the "right things"

I hope to be joining you. Are you a previous weight loss surgery recipient that gained? That's my story. I had surgery in May 2013 and I've basically gained everything I've lost. The loss wasn't much to begin with but I regained all I lost. I had given up on the surgery when I didn't reach my goal so i just started eating presurgery. I'm back on track now and have lost 4 lbs in 4 days. I'm resetting my sleeve by doing two shakes and one meal a day. This is only for a week then back to high protein low carb meals three times a day. I know when I start eating all my meals I will be getting more calories and will slow down on the weight loss but that's ok. I look forward to being where you are right now. :D congrats on doing so well,.

Topic: BACK ON TRACK

I've gotten back on track... Mostly protein and have lost four pounds. :D It's only been a few days and I've lost four pounds. TMI I'm still pooping ok not getting constipated cuz I'm drinking enough. I drink two 24 oz bottles of water and then half of one. I'm shooting for three of them a day and two 16 oz cups of sugar free creamered coffee. No sugar Just the sugar free creamer. It's wonderful. I'm doing two shakes a day and one meal until Wednesday then on thanksgiving I'll go back to eating three meals a day mostly protein and low carb. I'm so proud of myself. I'm doing it and doing it right. Maybe I won't need a second surgery. I have a lot of hard work ahead of me but I'm not having any cravings or anything. I did the first day I was craving sugar but now I'm good. I'm just so impressed and so happy with how I'm doing. I can't believe I still  have it in me. If I don't lose the weight I will continue with the plans to have the second surgery but I'm not sure I'm going to need it. I mean really... 4 pounds in a few days!!!! I know not to expect that kind of loss continuously but I'm happy with it now as a jump start. I've gained so much weight that I literally have nothing but sweats to wear that fits me and my shirts are bulging and buttons are ready to pop off. I stay in Pj's most of the time because of it. I only get dressed when I leave the house. Today I weighed in at 217. My goal is about 100 lbs from here. Oh I bought a bunch of exercise equipment that I have always enjoyed using at the gym. I got a punching bag, kettlebells, weights, and a medicine ball. My husband is going to exercise with me. I can't wait till we can get the stand for the punching bag. I love working with a punching bag. It makes me feel alive and I always work myself to the max with it. I'm still uncomfortable in my own skin. I feel like I'm going to explode out of my skin. But I'm glad my size is decreasing. Thank you all for the support and for answering my blog posts. I really appreciate it and love the support. You guys are the best.

Topic: RE: Dry Skin Blahh...

Omgosh, I've had very rough dry skin since surgery plus easy bruising and slooooow wound healing. I was thinking of posting something very similar to this last month, but I brought it up at my post-op appointment instead.  My surgeon suggested extra vitamin C, since it helps with collagen production. He said new post-ops don't eat much fresh fruit, when they need more vitamin C the most. I've added a chewable C and the dryness has improved a good bit, but I'm thinking I need a little more, since I still bruise for no apparent reason. Argh.
