Welcome aboard! WLS is the best decision I've made in a long time. I've always been a light sleeper and that didn't change. Good luck with your WLS journey, I hope you can find a solution for the insomnia.

Hi I've been hanging around on the Canadian form which is intensely helpful and just discovered you folks. I've been curious to see how it works out for us lower BMI peeps. I'm cleared for surgery at 221 it's, but haven't heard from the surgeon yet. Getting both excited and apprehensive. I hope I can get surgery by early February.
I'm also 66, and most of you are my kids' ages so I'm hoping this all works out ok. I had breast cancer 10 years ago but other than apnea, im healthy.
i notice so many of you lightweights get to your goals and stay there. Thstvmakes my heart feel warm and gives me hope. I want energy and mobility to chase my grandchildren around the yard.
i have a question: did any of you have insomnia before surgery that went away with weight loss.

That's great that you participated. I bet your Parents were really proud!!! In church Sunday the Pastor named each War and had the Veterans that participated stand up. It was very touching how many from our Church stood. Was your Hubby in the service?
Menu sounds YUMMY!! I had left over fish in the fridge that I was going to eat later and my DH just called and told me he ate it.....

Afternoon LW's!!! Are you prepared for Thanksgiving? I had my WLS in the month of October and I can remember being so excited because I was allowed to start eating "normal" food the week of Thanksgiving. Little bites of turkey never tasted sooooo good!!!! If you are early out be careful of dumping. Watch your sweets and fats and take small bites so nothing gets stuck. BUT ENJOY!!

Hi guys,
I had a great Veterans Day weekend. I visited my parents and participated in a Veterans Day recognition at their retirement complex. There were 3 pages of veterans on the program including WWII veterans of the US Armed Forces and Merchant Marines. We had Canadians and British vets as well. Very moving.

Your Menu sounds Delish! Cold weather has arrived in PA and I've been craving chili but the spices mess with me.

Hoping everyone had a nice weekend. 2 of our DGD's came on Thursday and spent the weekend. They only live about 40 minutes away but we don't see them very often. With my daughter being divorced from their dad they usually stay with him on opposite weekends. I had to beg and remind for this weekend to happen.

At first I didn't have a great experience with one of the coordinators but as I've worked with ALO they have been super nice and helpful in handling the situation. Thank you to the staff who has been emailing me since my last post. Everything has been resolved.
Congrats on your success so far!
sounds like you are doing the right things.
For me it really makes a difference when I am weighing and measuring and limiting my carbs to less than 50 grams a day. And I journal all my food and snacks
welcome to the lightweights!
