Can you tell us newbs more about the physical changes post honeymoon period? Does your WLS tool just work less well? Or is there some other metabolism shift that makes it harder to lose? I've been trying to focus on leading a healthy lifestyle, by building a lot of physical activity into my daily life. This weekend I got a puppy who I'm hoping will become my running partner for the next 8 to 10 years. I'm trying to incorporate a bike commute into my work routine, and spending time at the gym for weights and swimming.

What else can I do now, during my honeymoon, to help set myself up to win long term?

hi there all,

I am around the boards, and lightweights was my first board that i wrote on when i joined. it has been a wonderful journey and i am happy with my results. I work very hard on a daily basis to eat protein first. i lost 100 pounds in the first 10 months of my journey. I have kept off 95 pounds since oct 2015. Maintenance is no joke. I work out 4/5 times for week, cardio and strength training. I have changed 100% the way i cook and think about food. the only thing i did not change was the exercise. i am one of those people who always loved working out.

I want to send a thank you to the vets. You Roz are one of the best. You are an excellent example of hard work and determination.

i will try to post more often.

RNY best thing i ever did for myself.

Good morning!

Just checking in.

Been a tough week with work and my parents. No real relief in sight.

So challenges this week is to be prepared. Have lunches planned and packed for work. Going to try to make a couple of meals so my parents and my family will have some good options over the next couple of days.

Victories or Celebrations?

Meet up with a dear friend I met over 7 years ago on this board. So good to have someone in the same place on this journey!

Struggling with maintenance but we would not change a thing. Our tool still works when we work our tools. So for you newbies out there, really take advantage of the honeymoon period!

Trying not to let the scale get to me, maintaining, which is good but would love to get back into the 130's, but trying not get discouraged!

Beautiful day today! Going to watch my granddaughter play soccer and hopefully get a walk in too!

Have an amazing day!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.

I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

Good Morning LW's!!!!! I ended up going to the ER to get help getting my food down. They gave me something to drink to relax my throat muscles and apparently that worked because when they went in to remove the meat it was gone. My stomach muscles are super sore this morning and I feel like I did a ton of crunches but that is definitely not the case... (me and exercise don't get along)!! After one day of not eating the scales are down to 118 which is the bottom of my 3 point range and I haven't seen that for awhile. That's only a pound or two under my usual weight (which will be back tomorrow morning) but it looks good for a few minutes....

I'm not sure what my eats are going to be today. I'm going stick with liquids and soft foods for today.

I'm super sore today but my scales are at 118 this morning and I haven't seen that number for a long time. I bounce from 119-120 on an every day basis.

I spent of the day at the hospital getting unstuck. What a miserable feeling that is!! I'm at home now sipping on tea to calm down my throat.

Sounds Good Gina!
