I had that this morning for my smoothie. I put milk and yogurt and it tastes like an Orange Julius! I had almost 50 gm of protein!!!

Hi,

My goal is to finish all my assignments for school today/tomorrow so all I will have to do is concentrate on the finals when they come around the end of the month.

I didn't get as much protein in as I've been messing around with my shakes - going to get back on the ball with that today too!

Happy Monday!

Thanks!

I have tried the protein coffee, it did mix well, but I prefer my coffee with milk and hot, so it wasn't my favorite. Maybe I'll try it again sometime though.

I love sweet tea with lemon. I am originally from Louisville and my Mother's side of family always had tea. It was a big treat for me as a kid!

Hi,

My Isopure RTD has gotten too expensive more than $5 bottle. Granted, I get 40 gms protein, no carbs, from it, but looking for less expensive ways to get protein.

Right now, I am finishing up some different flavors of Jay Robb protein powder, and purchased some vanilla EAS at grocery so I would have something on hand.

I have read on here some of you drink the Syntax tea. Is it decaf? Where is the best place to purchase. I would like some non-milk type drinks too. Although I may have to get the double stuffed drink (cannot remember its name) to try it out too. I usually drink decaf tea and /or lemonade (crystal light) for my liquids. So it would be great to have something like that to replace my grape Isopure.

Thanks for all the help and any ideas are appreciated?

I agree with Price, decarb and decaf before. Giving up diet coke was one of the hardest for me, but I'm so glad I did it pre-op.

Get lots of rest before and try to relax.

Topic: RE: Good Morning. Dr E's -- What Kind of Eater Are You?
Like I said in another post, I feel like at different times I have been any of the above. I feel tho' that I mainly w/am volume and carbs. If I have certain carbs they have always made me want more.

Although I have had indulgences since surgery, many times, they do not seem as good as I remember them being pre-op. I'm not sure why, but I'm loving fruits and veggies more than ever. Hopefully it will stay that way.

I was logging my food the other day and found a meal from pre-op I had saved which was 3-4 pieces of pizza along with 2-3 breadsticks! And that was when I was tracking on Weigh****chers so I must have been kinda watching what I was eating. I cannot imagine eating like that ever again, and hope I never can.

Love my sleeve!

I have a sleeve and am 9 months out today and at my goal weight.

I agree with others read as much as you can. Price had a great suggestion on going to. center of Excellence I did and they got me approved first time. My BMI was right around 40, but I think when they submitted it it was 39 something.

I love my sleeve. I can tolerate any food. I limit carbs, but have added fruits and vegetables, occ. whole grains. Once in a while a "treat".

Read all you can and welcome.

Thank you Price for posting this. This board has been such great support to me before and after surgery. You and the other Vets on here are so knowledgable it is amazing. This is where I come for my information.

I am not sure without this support I would have gone through with surgery, as my kids were not thrilled. There were so many success stories I read pre-op here, and being a LW, when so many people said ,"you don't need surgery" this board helped me realize surgery would be the best for me.

I don't post as much as i used to, but read frequently to stay grounded in this journey. I would like to also say THANK YOU ALL too!

Also, welcome Laurie!

Congrats! Like others have said - keep your big pants! Also, if you haven't please measure yourself.

I have followed Price's advice and gone to consignment stores, taking my old clothes and buying new. That way you get some $ for your new clothes. I don't know if I will ever buy clothes full price again. I also go to outlet stores and have saved a lot. I even have had to replace shoes!

Best of luck - you are doing great!

Topic: RE: Good Morning. What are the traditional foods for Easter again?
We always have had ham, deviled eggs, Hoosier green beans, potato salad. That being said, not sure what we will be having as I think we are eating at our church this year. Kids are all out of town. I used to bake either an Easter bunny cake or cutout sugar cookies too.

Also, like Tonya said, chocolate bunnies for grandsons!

Topic: RE: Would you pay for surgery if insurance didn't?
I would pay, but like Roz only if it didn't cause any stress on family. I also would check out Mexico.

I would gain15# for sure. Also remember when you weigh in you do the opposite of what you normally do. Wear heavy clothes, shoes, eat and drink a lot before you weigh in.

Also I had joint pain and stress incontinence which I think helped.

Also remember once you get started you cannot gain.

Best of luck. I love my sleeve!

Thanks for the review. Sounds great - I've never ordered the Nectar drinks so I may order a sample.

Best of luck Friday! You will do fine. Stopping caffeine was a major event for me prior to and I am glad you have done that. You are past the headache withdrawal stage.

Good luck!

Tonya isn't it fun getting new sizes and clothes?

I shop in consignment shops quite a bit and factory outlet stores. I take my old clothes to the consignment shop and sometimes it is like shopping for free! I also think by getting rid of my larger sizes I won't be able to easily have my "fat" clothes to fall back on. I have kept a couple of pants to remind me of how far I have come.
