I think what I could not find the words to say right the other day was, the whole "above and beyond what the body needs" is a kind of random statement it seems.  I mean, you can do calculations and whatnot to find out your lean body mass, but whose body? What body? What is their lean body mass? how much protein do they need that day?  Its kind of like the "too much water" warning.  I have done medical transcription for 18ish years and the folks who have issues with too much water are not dieters, they tend to be teenagers who have done ecstacy at raves.  Which - well that mostly is not us.

So, yea, both points are "true" but there are qualifying and quantifying markers that are pretty fuzzy.

Kind of like saying "too much protein is dangerous!!"

Okay, yea, well true if you have kidney disease, but then too - how much is "too much."
