Just curious if anyone 2 years or longer out have had their sleeves checked via an upper GI.     I am 3 years out and my  Bariatrics doc ordered one for myself.

Restriction is still great !

Well, I did, but not for "bariatric" reasons.  Just recently, I was diagnosed with severe anemia, and the GI doc looked up my rump and down my gullet to make sure I wasn't bleeding anywhere.  (I wasn't.)  He said all he could see was a small line of scar tissue in my stomach from the sleeve incision, and, of course, that my stomach is very small.

And he said the valve from my esophagus into my stomach doesn't work worth a darn, but that is hereditary.  I've got reflux like nobody's business.  Thank goodness for Nexium!

Otherwise, he saw nothing weird.  Not weird is good!

Nope. I haven't had mine checked and I don't plan to. I can tell I have the same restriction as before and I do the cottage cheese test every year on my surgiversary.

I had an upper GI in Mexicali in May, which was right at two years. Dr. Campos said my sleeeve looked great and holds 3-4 oz of food. Of couse it makes a huge difference with solid protein, but I still have fabulous restriction.
