WW musings

I have a tendency to be a total control freak and manipulator when it comes to my food and "dieting". Keeping that in mind, I went ahead and double logged my food for tomorrow's breakfast, lunch and snack. No dinner yet.

Fascinating to me that I have only logged 15 WW points, but have logged 1142 calories, 97 grams protein, 122 carbs, and 31 grams of fat. That leaves me a whopping 424 calories left for the rest of the day on Livestrong where my calorie limit for weight loss is 1566 calories per day to manage roughly a 2 pound loss per week.

For WW I still have more than half my points still available. I wonder if perhaps I over estimated my exercise for WW. I answered honestly that I am active and want to keep it up. I do qualify as active, right?

Trying so hard to have faith in the program and not let my best thinking lead me down the path of obese righteousness. I figure my best thinking is what got me back to obese in the first place, so I really should put my trust into something other than my own compulsion influenced logic and rationalizations.

My trainer wants me to eat no less than 2000 calories a day. Good, healthy, weight loss promoting calories, but still 2000 per day. Now remember she is formerly obese herself. She lost 130 pounds (without surgery) and has kept it off for 12 or 14 years. She knows nutrition.

I will update after a day or two on program. At least I feel prepared.

I don't know how much WW factors in activity, but I have never considered it as contributing to weight loss significantly (of course I am a 5'3" older woman LOL).

My observations agree with Liz's about exercise affecting my weight LOSS.

However, exercise is really associated with my weight MAINTENANCE.

Seems nonsensical. But there you have my anecdotal observations.

I agree about exercise having little influence on weight loss. For me, with my disordered eating issues, it doesn't seem to have done much to combat the weight gain, but exercise has certainly kept me much stronger and more fit than I ever ever been, so for me that is a win.
