119.6

Today is youngest DD's birthday. She was born on Friday the 13th, so 13 has always been her lucky number. The 18th was actually our "gotcha" day when she came home to us. Families who adopt older children celebrate that day too but because ours were only a few days old we have just celebrated their birthdays. But I sure remember that day. I was looking at those pictures when I sorted through the photos this summer. Elise was a junior in high school, and we called the school so my MIL could pick her up early so she would be home when we got back to the house. What a happy day!

Yesterday was a bit of a rainout though it was dry enough in the morning for water aerobics. We did need the rain. Hopefully today stays dry and the sun comes out (it is super foggy right now). We have a Flower Moon Dinner Dance at the Beach Club tonight.

Have a team Tuesday!

No weight today. I need to replace the batteries in my scale.

Got back to working out yesterday. That was nice!

Ron lagged on calling the doctor yesterday. Doc ordered bloodwork and urinalysis in the late afternoon. No meds until results come in. So, Ron didn't even pull himself together to go do the tests. UGH!!!! He's an adult so I can't scold him, but geez! sometimes he acts like such a teenager I want to! LOL! Frustrating...

Partly cloudy, but no rain in the forecast. Hoping for a bit warmer temps today, too!

Not much else going on here....

Terrific Tuesday to one and all!

I think the batteries wear out a lot faster on the newer scales. I hardly ever had to replace the batteries on the older ones.

Greetings all

Sunny but boy is it windy. I was planning on picking up bedding plants and getting them in but no digging in dirt in this wind. Plus the store did not have what I wanted anyway. Ate half a sandwich and now I am sleepy. May need a nap.

Scrabble was fun this morning. I actually defeated the Shark and won one other game. Not bad.

Happy Birthday day to your daughter Liz. Enjoy the day and the club dance.

Well Peps, it sure is annoying when one's partner won't do what is in their best interest. Maybe Ron just doesn't want to face the issue but that is no help at all. Hope it resolves.

We started watching "The Studio". Pretty funny.

Yep really do feel

So many fun events at your club! The full moon was so beautiful here, it does indeed deserve a dance to celebrate it.

Liz, thanks for sharing the memory of a very happy day. Made me smile.

Paula, you'll have to tell us about the spray tan experience. I imagine being handsprayed is even better than a booth.

Also smiling about the shark being taken down. It is a victory for the whole tribe.

Peps, I feel your pain as you wonder why Ron makes the choices he does, but then I remember that sometimes when I'm sick, its hard to follow through. Both DH and I have been both sides of the coin: the one trying to get the sick one to go get treatment and the one who is sick and doesn't have the wherewithal to initiate it. I hope be gets antibiotics soon.

Well the retirement party drama goes on. Today an invite went out to the whole staff for a party for a different retiree on the same day my friends planned mine. My friends showed me the invite for mine a few days ago, but didn't send it to anyone yet. Now the whole thing feels awkward. We're a big staff, but not that big, to have dueling parties. So I asked as nicely as I could if they could just scale it back to department only. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings while they're trying to do something nice for me. So department only is what I think is happening. We'll see.

We still had our landline, but I asked DH to cancel it. Here is what happened instead. Our cable /WiFi company said if we bundled our landline our current bill would drop $30 a month. Okay, that's nice. Cancelled the landline with our previous provider and saved $35. So we're saving $65 dollars a month and still have the landline. This is some weird math. But hey, we'll still get our daily message letting us know that the loan center (right, there is just THE loan center issuing money, you know the one) has approved us for a home equity loan of $80,000 so we can consolidate our debt. Sometimes the offer is $75,000 and I feel personally insulted that Mary thinks we're worth less than Jeff.

We're looking at a different garbage service too. Waste Management, our current service has a cute way of discouraging cancellations. They charge $75.00 to come and pick up their own bins when you cancel. There's no charge if you deliver them yourself. This annoys me so much that even if we can't find a cheaper service, I still want to cancel with them. News flash, the bins will fit in our Explorer, and I'll have time to deliver them.

The beautiful weather continues one more day. It has been lovely.

Fingers crossed that you get the scaled down party after all.

I was chuckling to myself at the landline because we ended up doing the same at my Cape house but the telephone number was different so we never gave it anyone and didn't use it. Eventually I just unplugged it.

125 even today, up but at the low end of my range so all is good.

The spray tan process was easy. Too early to tell the results. Have a first rinse off at 10 pm tonight and then I guess the color is fully developed within 24 hours of being sprayed. Right now it looks super dark which she warned me it would until I do the first rinse.

Otherwise, nothing much done today except lunch out with DH (Mexican for taco Tuesday). Need to finish packing snacks, dog supplies and beverages for the trip!

The bus to Fargo leaves at 9:00 am!
