Ann this rosebush is called "Leander". It is an old rose which I got from an old rose nursery years ago which specializes in roses that do well in our humid climate. Hybrid tea roses get all kinds of diseases out here so one needs ones with fewer petals. The shrub ones and climbers do best here. This rose was up over the shed and finally got so heavy with flowers it fell over. We cut it way back and it has come back big. We got bags of petals from it years ago and scattered them with my SIL's ashes in the ocean after her death. It is a great plant. I need to tie it up to get it to go over the roof again. Another great rose that is idiot proof is Bonica. Lots of blooms, low maintenance. A floribunda I think. DS
Diane, thanks belatedly for this info. Roses are so specialized these days. Ditto hydrangeas, which we also love.

Today the landscaper came and in addition to cleaning up the yard, they fixed my driveway lights. Yay! Though I'm not sure how a wire connection buried 8" under the dirt suddenly came undone by itself, but there you go.
I had lunch with a neighbor and we had a nice time. I do find it strange when people wear sunglasses inside. Perhaps she has sensitive eyes? It made me think about how much of communication is via eyes. I found myself looking out the window when I talked in lieu of the eye contact I couldn't make...
I think that's all from my quiet corner! Hello to all!
Interesting comment about sunglasses inside. It always disconcerts me too so it must be the eye contact aspect. We have an acquaintance in Florida who always wears them indoors.
