Keeping our mouth healthy is a necessary evil. It seems like the dentist has to do a lot of redos on fillings at our age and the crowns seems to be a result of old fillings breaking down the tooth? I think they get more brittle? Like our bones probably.

122.5, down again!

Busy day today. Helped out in the church's garden for a few hours then came home and made Greek turkey meatballs and homemade tzatziki sauce for them. Then DH and I took our walk. Still need to shower and do some grocery shopping!

I'll share the meatball recipe if it is as good as it looks! Trying another new recipe tomorrow as well! Got to shake it up every once in a while! I save recipes that I see online to my phone and then forget about them, so I perused them the other day and decided on 4 new ones for this week!

Tomorrow I will lead Bible study, may do lunch with the ladies afterwards since DH is lunching with a friend. Then it will be time to clean for a BBQ we are hosting at our house on Friday night!

Peps, I agree with Diane, if you are comfortable where you are at weight wise, just keep on doing what you are doing! You look awesome and very fit! Who cares about those darn BMI charts anyway!

Diane S, enjoy your walk and pizza!

Liz, enjoy the last leg of your trip! You will be home to Justice soon!

I put recipes in a photo album on my phone too, I felt like I saved a turkey meatball one at some time but I definitely haven't made it. I look forward to trying yours!

Today was supposed to be a trip to Traverse City with my dad mostly for a dermatology follow up for him, but adding on Costco and lunch. Instead his stent clogged again and I took him to the hospital. They swapped it out fairly quickly for a hospital, and he was able to come home. But the interventional radiology department just deals with the stents, so he wasn't tested for a UTI, so no idea what caused the clog only 3 weeks after the last one. I called his regular doctor and asked if he could come in just for a precautionary urine culture in case it was an infection and the doctor was adamant he didn't think it was (asshole, pardon my french), so no he couldn't have a test. Imagine saying that to a patient with a history of sepsis! When has he ever had a clog that wasn't infection related? So I said to my dad, should we call your urologist and try to get a sample taken there while we're over an hour from home? Stubborn mule said, his office is too chaotic, they can't do it. Why not just ask rather than assume while we're all the way up here??? Argh!!! Stubborn men. So no one tested anything. If he has to go back up there because it clogs yet again, it'll be a massive "I told you so" I will need to bite back. He's also being really depressed about this talking about how angry he is, how one of these days, one of these will kill him. I said, maybe but not today and tried to stay positive. I get it, but positivity has gotten him a long way with his issues, he can't give up now. But I understand the urge to wallow.

Anyway, that was my day. Hope yours were better!

Sorry about another clogged stent for your Dad. And grrrrrr on not doing a urinalysis to test for infection. How hard is that to do? I know sometimes my Mom's doctors are hesitant to test for a UTI as well. Never made sense to me!

Good lord, it's not even a complicated or expensive test! I bet your Dad does feel discouraged in the moment when he keeps dealing with this. But as you said, it's not going to get you today! Your Dad vs 100 million stents and he's still standing!!

I don't get it! They test my dad for flipping EVERYTHING the minute he walks in the hospital. First thing they do is get his blood and ask for a urine sample. FFS! Makes no sense to me whatsoever.

I know! The thing with Interventional Radiology is it's a separate department from the ER. So if he had gone to the ER, he'd probably still be there. It becomes a 10 hour admittance ordeal (with all the testing) to finally get the stent changed and by then the kidney is getting damaged and he ends up having to stay for days. By bypassing the ER they can change the stent quickly preventing damage, but he doesn't get all the other testing. This works during IR business hours and here in Traverse City, because they have dealt with him often enough he can just call them directly to come in. If it's outside of their regular hours (nights and weekends), he's got to go to the ER and they call an IR doctor in.

They are calling his urologist today and asking him to send a urinalysis order to the hospital down here. I wish he could find a new regular doctor! This one seems clueless about his history. Argh.
