116.6 - unchanged even though I felt like I ate a lot yesterday.
Fairly quick post as the bus leaves for breakfast in 10 minutes. No sign of either of the sisters being up so I guess DH and I will go alone.
Happy Birthday DD! I hope you have a wonderful and low stress day!
So you guys are mostly having hot, humid weather like we did earlier this past week, but we have cooled down a bit here. The beach was beautiful yesterday - just the right temperature so comfortable and not sweaty. Dinner at our new favorite place was great again. I had fantastic tuna tartare. One of the sisters had a lobster and it was actually priced fairly reasonably (and was a great meal).
The sisters plan to leave relatively early today so the linen and towel washing will commence shortly thereafter. No company planned for the rest of the summer right now thank goodness though we will be going places.
I am making a Big Mac salad for dinner tonight - the idea sparked by Paula. Looking forward to it.
Have a stupendous Sunday!

122.8, moving upward. That seems to be the trend slow increases or decreases but usually within a 3 ish pound range.
Church today and then time in the kitchen making beet salads for lunch and rhubarb crisp. Not much else today. Very hot and humid outside. DH is golfing, crazy man! DC1 hanging out.
Happy Birthday DD! Hope you are enjoying your day and enjoyed your wine last night!
Liz, your weather sounds perfect! I would love a beach day and then a lobster dinner! No lobster but we are having shrimp tacos tonight.
Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!
The Big Mac salad was a hit with DH - very tasty. Thanks for the idea (I found the recipe back in June when you talked about making it and finally made it tonight)!
Rhubarb crisp is a yumm, but I just can't get into beets...

Greetings all
Big sun out today. I bet everyone is at the beach. Not me. I am lazing about but will be going to the gym soon. DH's youngest sister will be in LA for a couple of weeks in August. The other sister and her kids are there plus the new grand niece so we are thinking of going down there for a few days. Nothing like LA in August right? So the logistics are underway including dog/house sitter, trying to decide which airport to fly to - Burbank or LAX, whether to rent a car or Uber about and on and on. Even though I have never used Uber, the thought of flying into LAX and then doing god knows what to get to a rental lot is daunting. But LAX is closer to the nephew with the new baby and one sister. DH wants to rent a car with apple car play to tell us where to drive but I think not. Gee Liz, with all your traveling how do you manage all the logistics?
Big Mac salad Liz! I assume that it is not just some big macs run through a blender. When I was in college there was a drug store soda fountain that had a dish called garbage salad that was lettuce with ground beef and cheese on it. Actually sounds pretty good in spite of the name.
Beet salad sounds good Paula. Glad you have a slower day planned.
So our trip hinges in large part on the availability of the house/dog sitter. It would not break my heart if she is not available and then DH would go alone. I want to see the baby and all the people but do not wish to see the inside of LAX ever again.
Tesla is now fully perked up after her dental work and is eating like a pig. Making up for the 14 hours she had to go without eating.
DD hoping you have a low drama day. Peps bet you are at shows.

We just rent from the airport at some place on-site with good prices. Getting a membership ahead of time with companies like National or Hertz and reserving with them lets you skip the line and just pick your car out of a bunch available. They just confirm your reservation on the way out of the lot. There are always lots of signs at the airport pointing to where the car rentals are (or a shuttle to it if applicable). No need for Apple Play if the passenger has Google Maps on their phone, but most of the cars have it anyway. I only had one recently that did not (it was a small Jeep).
The Big Mac salad sounds a lot like the one you described! Lettuce, seasoned ground beef, diced onion, diced pickles, shredded cheese, and a dressing that is a lot like thousand island but made from scratch.

Best of luck at your parents! BTW, loved the pictures your DH put on FB. What a beautiful family! And your DD looks so amazing - just glowing. I bet she is you at that age!
