117.4 - getting back toward my usual range. That 1/2 English muffin with peanut butter must have helped!
We FINALLY have a day with no company. Three loads of laundry and three beds changed yesterday. I have changed more beds in the last 10 days than I usually do in a couple of months.
Today is errand day. We need to change our mailing address for our Massachusetts cars in person at the Registry of Motor Vehicles because you can't do it online unless you have a Massachusetts drivers license! And the renewal for DH's car went to my old house so we didn't get it until it was too late to do by mail (the father of the Homeowner brought it to DH at golf last week). We also have to pick up prescriptions, dry cleaning, etc. And we have to pack for tomorrow night and the next one.
We are going to Block Island RI for Tuesday and Wednesday night. It was DH's Christmas present from me. I already payed for the room so that's good. The weather should be perfect for being on a beach island tomorrow and Wednesday. Thursday looks like rain so we will likely skedaddle after checkout.
Have a minimal Monday!

Greetings all
Another bright sunny day. Maybe that is why I woke up earlier than usual. So the reservations are made for our trip to LA in late august. Hotel. plane, car, pet sitter. DH is insisting on getting this car so I have admonished him he cannot yell and fuss if the GPS system does not work. I am going to sneak off to AAA and try to get good maps just in case. It really would not be a big deal as we don't have that far to drive but LA traffic makes me crazy. Trying to decide if I need any new clothes. Probably not. So I will be heading to the studio shortly. I think I will skip the gym. Plenty to do around here. Laundry, junk removal, preparation of soft food for Tesla etc. New stuff from the kiln today. Gallery sales have been great for all so that is good.
Enjoy Block Island Liz. Sounds like a great place. And congrats on being guest-free for awhile. It is challenging.
So this trip means I have to reschedule my annual wellness check up at primary care doctor. I really have little to complain about so no big deal to move it. Plus it puts off being weighed. I should just face the music and do what I need to do. Maybe tomorrow.
Yep peanut butter is an automatic weight gainer for me. Just is. I don't eat it often.
Not much else. Hello to all out there
Diane S
I'm glad you booked the trip and are you sure you don't need any new clothes for it? I'm like Paula - any excuse...

122.8, same.
Fairly busy day today. Started with 2 hours of harvesting produce in the church garden followed by treadmill workout and some arm resistance training.
I?m starting work on a wedding photo album for DSD and hubby.
Pepper steak with rice is on the menu for tonight. Have to wait until DH gets home to cook the last of it.
Tonight we will watch the final episode of BBQ Brawl. Funny how someone (me) who doesn?t want to gain weight gravitates to the cooking channel shows. We are quite addicted to them. Maybe it?s the chef in me!
Hot and humid today but rain is coming tomorrow and should bring some relief.
Liz, enjoy your alone time with DH and have fun in RI!
I think it is definitely the chef in you who likes the cooking shows! My DS watches them all the time but I never do.

Trips! I have to agree with Paula about buying new clothes. But I do understand it is not everyone's favorite activity. As long as you have some things that will work with the heat, you're set Diane.
Birthday was lots of fun! The musical was witty, and still tasteful. One very poignant song, the ghost of the night nurse who was murdered sang to the murderer about how her husband asked her not to go that night (which I think was in an interview at the time). Since this musical came out, the nurse's niece thanked the composers for bringing attention to her aunt and that her life mattered too. Afterwards, we went to the Brazilian steakhouse and had small p!ages at the bar, which was perfect. In the morning, DHs BFF had texted asking if we had time to get a drink with them in the evening. When we got to the bar, he and his wife were waiting with a bouquet of flowers for me. Sweet.
The bedroom is set up downstairs in my parents house. The actual physical set up went okay, but the crying and yelling was hard to take. My mother is such a hardened, bitter person now. My Dad for all his faults was a pretty optimistic guy. Not as much anymore. My brother was great, his son, my nephew even better to have along for part of the day, because my parents behave a little better when he is around. Even with brother and sweet nephew I'm giving today a rating of abject horror. I'm glad to be home, on my bed, with the door shut for a moment.
When we got home, my nephew was arriving with his kids. I wasn't expecting that, I thought I would have a quiet morning tomorrow. BFF has the day off, so she will be taking them to their various summer camps tomorrow. Nephew closes on his condo August 5.
BFF texted me this morning that when she used my blood pressure monitor it was 122/180 and I told her she needs to go to minute clinic (she doesn't have insurance here) and most likely needs a prescription. I also told her she should take my monitor and see if it's reading the same. I think I have her convinced to go tomorrow.
I am worn out. I will go work out tomorrow, and that may be all I ask of myself. I do have some fun things coming up: invited to a friends house Wednesday evening, meeting some other friends on Monday for lunch, entertaining my favorite coworkers next Wednesday, a trip to the St. Paul Saints Baseball on August 7th ... All good :) And meeting up with Peps on the 24th!
Sorry you won't get a day of rest, glad you had a great birthday.
The BP your BFF gave you is impossible, the second number is always less than the first number. Perhaps she remembered it wrong or got the numbers reversed (and in that case the numbers would still warrant a trip to the doctor). Hope she gets it figured out.
I'm glad you had a good birthday because it sounds like the weight of the world was on your shoulders the next day. Good to have some fun things coming up.
DH and I were talking yesterday about how people change as they age. His sisters were saying that their Dad was always stressed out and angry when he was working (he owned a small construction business), but he became a happy, easy-going guy after retirement. But their mother went the opposite direction and became a bitter hypochondriac. I met DH after he had retired and from what his family says he also used to be angry a lot when he was working. He has a temper but it doesn't flare too often and dies out really quickly these days so I just ignore him when he gets upset (it's usually over something small and frustrating). But I can imagine that it would have been tough to take if it was frequent.

Liz, thank you for the compliment about my family. They do make me so proud. My daughter and I are very much alike, but as I like to say, she is a better version. I am so grateful that both of children are having a great time right now. Both have had struggles, and will no doubt have them again, but for now, it's their day in the sun.
