118.2 - my intentional act of eating more the last few days has brought my weight back to where I feel more comfortable.
Good day yesterday - the errands took less time than we expected so we poked around downtown Chatham for a bit then had a drink in the afternoon at Chatham Bars Inn. It's a beautiful resort/restaurant on the beach. Classic Cape Cod seashore place. Picture below. Afterwards we drove to my former town to meet SIL and friends for dinner at another place on the water. Very enjoyable day. It was nice to see SIL making an effort to eat more. She has started on Keytruda infusions which she had when she was first diagnosed with lung cancer. It put the cancer into remission for a couple of years but she had a very dangerous lung infection as a side effect so had to come off it. This time her oncologist is going to monitor her lungs really closely with frequent Cat scans so they can catch it quick if it starts to develop.
I need to get my act together and get packed as we leave in 2 hours for Block Island. We should be on the island by about 1. Have a talkative Tuesday!

Also, on the discussion about buying clothing I found this really light cute seersucker dress while in Chatham and tried it on but their smallest size was a bit too big. So I went online to look for it in my size and not only did I find it but it was 1/2 the price! Score!

Congratulations on the great dress find! Meant to be. Enjoy your get away, the one where someone else turns the bed at the end of the stay instead of you.
Good news about your SIL. We are hoping drugs similar to Keytruda help our friend with pancreatic cancer have more time. He is stage IV, but the doctor did offer that while not curable, it can be controlled. New medications in the fight against cancers are extending people's lives, even when they are stage IV. Hoping feverently for more years for everyone.
Blissfully quiet here. I heard the kiddos getting ready to go to their summer day camps this morning when I woke up at 8am and I decided it would be prudent to stay in bed. 2 returned with BFF for lunch (the oldest is in an all day camp) and now are off to their next adventure. I haven't made it to work out yet. Not sure if I will.
After a week of 90 or near 90 degree days, and so much rain and humidity, it is very pleasant today with sun and a fresh breeze. I opened up all the windows in the house. I am very grateful for air conditioning while hating it at the same time. It's air that is devoid of life: bird song and grass fragrance and curtains in the breeze. Lively air is wafting through the house again.
So a not much planned day and I'm happy for it. I might even take a nap. :)
Greetings all
Another sunny breezy day. Best kind. Seems like I have been out and about all day. Played Scrabble. Won one, lost two including the Shark but only by a little. I was going to go to Target for new socks but stopped at Walgreens instead. I was thinking they might have a small selection of sports socks so I asked where they had panty hose; thinking socks would be nearby. Guess what? They don't have panty hose. None. The clerk said "oh those things that used to come in a plastic egg"? Made me feel old. So I got some stuff including fair life milk but will have to order socks on line. I really hate clothes shopping and there are no departments stores anymore - just little boutiques with odd selections. College town Arcata has all this crop tops and torn jeans stuff. No thanks.
So after shopping I went up to the gallery to take new stuff and pick up checks. Unbelievable clouds!
Well DD you were due for a laid back day. I agree with you on the AC - glad to have it when needed but I hate that artificial chill feeling. Might as well sit inside the refrigerator. Actually when I was in high school and worked at KFC that is what we did with the big walk in cooler. That kitchen was so hot. We would go in the fridge and drink soda. So enjoy the fresh air when you can!
And you too on the fresh air Liz. That resort looks wonderful. Glad your SIL has renewed medication and is moving forward.
Not much else. Remaining yum yum sandwiches tonight and then I have to think of something else.

I am surprised that Walgreens didn't have socks even though they don't have pantyhose LOL. No Nonsense which used to make hose now makes socks. I have gotten socks at CVS. Target would definitely have them too.

I agree on air conditioning. I love to hear the sounds and smell the air from outside. Last night we opened up the window on our 3rd floor room so we could the music on the lawn outside in the early evening (though we did close it to have good AC for sleeping).
SIL was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer more than 6 years again and at that point her oncologist said it was not curable, but it was treatable. The treatments have sometimes been a bit tough but not overwhelming so for the most part. Hopefully that will be the case for your friend too.

It looks like Tsunami warnings are still in effect in your part of California (it is 6:30 am here, so 3:30 am your time)! I hope there isn't much damage.
