No weight as we are on beautiful Block Island.

The heat you folks in the mid-west had last week is here right now. It was 90 with humidity making it feel like 100 here yesterday and the same is predicted for today. Though where there is a sea breeze it makes a huge difference. I have mixed feelings about renting bicycles. It would be nice to see the part of the island we missed last year but I'm not sure I can take the heat on a bike.

The sea breeze was fairly significant on the front lawn of the hotel yesterday. It is a beautiful old hotel with a large porch where there is a bar, restaurant and a seating area where one can have drinks. In front of the porch there are Adirondack chairs all about and wait staff takes drink and appetizer orders. There was a musician playing a piano on the lawn from 5-8. Feels like going back in time which is what most of this island feels like.

We will probably go for a walk in a bit while the temperatures are still in the low 70's. Likely some beach time later. Tomorrow we probably won't hang around after checkout time as the heat starts to break tomorrow and it may be showery.

I hope California fares okay with the tsunami warnings. Looks like it is mostly dangerous for swimmers not necessarily property?

Have a winning Wednesday!

122.4 yesterday and 122.8 this morning. Pretty steady.

Busy days! I'm trying to remember what I even did yesterday. I know there was a DH walk in there and working on wedding photo book for DSD. BLTs and farmers market green beans were our dinner. Our realtor texted us saying her partner has an out of state client looking to move to the area to be near children/grandchildren and they want a ranch on the north side of town (that describes us). She was wondering if we might consider selling a little earlier than planned. We said earliest would be the end of November (I have surgery the start of September) so now we are awaiting an answer if that time frame works for their client and if so we need to do some mad tidying of the house to show sometime Sunday-Tuesday.

Today I worked in the church garden again. We delivered 137 pounds to the food pantry this week! Got home, showered and have been cleaning the house a bit.... just in case. Hoping to hear soon if we need to put those efforts in full gear or not.

Thinking tonight might be an out to eat night. Probably Mexican per usual! Or maybe Jimmy John's subs!

Greetings all

It is overcast here which is so common in our fog zone. We have the tv on to the Weather Channel and BBC to learn about this earthquake and tsunami. The BBC really has much better news than any US stations and they go into some depth and not just headlines. CNN and MSNBC mostly just have talking heads giving opinions.

So there were some bigger waves at the coast here and some action at Crescent City (60 miles north) which always gets bad stuff if there are tsunamis. They were hit badly in the 64 Alaska quake and also Fukushima. So we are still under caution but our town is up on cliffs about 150 feel above sea level so we are out of the zone and safe. The studio, however, is at about 10 feet above sea level and is in the zone. Though I think the danger is pretty low I think I will stay away from the studio today. Need to visit the gym which is also safely out of the zone.

Yay Peps Dad all moved! Glad it went smoothly and he seems content. Hope he is enjoying his new surroundings and feels comfortable.

Block Island looks wonderful Liz. Like a step back in time indeed. Might be fun to leave phones behind when sitting in the Adirondack chairs on a porch. I would skip bikes. No need to sweat.

Nice Paula that you work the church garden and supply food for others. Interesting on the house inquiry. Might just be good Karma.

Not going to Target today as it is in the tsunami zone. Kind of a trek there anyway. I need to just order some stuff from Lands End or something.

Yoo hoo CC report in please. Ditto others. You know who you are.

You know you live in a unique place in the world when your big box store is in a tsunami zone! I suppose my Target is in a tornado zone, but tsunami zone sounds so much more exotic to this midwesterner.

Liz loved the pictures of your resort and the Adirondack chairs. We were at a resort in Door County that had Adirondacks on the grass overlooking Lake Michigan, which is why we now have 2 chairs in our front yard, because DH liked the vibe so much. Sadly our view does not include ocean or lake. But its still a nice shady spot to sit.

Wow Paula, already listing your house for this one buyer at least accelerates your timeline!

Today was a do some tasks day. I started with a workout to the soundtrack of a Chorus Line, one of my faves. Bought a few groceries and made an appetizer to bring to my friend's house tonight. I bought a new set of pots and pans at Costco last week, but had yet to unpack them. They are bigger than my current set, so I had to do some purging in the kitchen. I drug a ton of stuff out from that one cupboard I always seem to have full of nonsense. Sorting, purging, all while consulting with DH. The new pots are placed so they are handy, the old ones tossed as they were very worn and the unearthed seldom used appliances ( wafflemaker, panni press etc) either tossed or stored elsewhere. A few things were salvageable we didn't want. I will offer them to my nephew.

Time to get ready to go out. Old fashioneds await!

Potential house buyer wants to move ASAP, so we are no longer in the race to sell!
