Still no weight while away but reasonable eating yesterday. DH and I shared a phenomenal lobster roll for lunch and I didn't eat much at dinner. I had half a personal size bag of chips and 3 bites of blueberry pie. Without the tirzepatide I wouldn't have been able to stop but I enjoyed the treats and was satisfied.
Lunch yesterday was at a great outdoor restaurant in Boothbay Harbor. I think the lobster roll had at least 2 full lobsters in it. We took the coastal route the rest of the way north to Bar Harbor thinking it would be prettier but we barely saw the water because of the tall Maine trees. It added an hour and was mostly a boring drive except when in cute little towns where we kept hitting red lights. Note for future trips here - take the direct route.
We are at the same Inn, in the same room we had 3 years ago - "Jack's Room". Beautiful room with a private section of the wrap around porch. It is just about half a block behind where the restaurants are so very quiet but super convenient. We are drinking coffee in our room right now but will go get some breakfast in the common room shortly. We plan to hike in the middle part of the day. We picked our trail but have to figure out how to get to it. Looks like a beautiful sunny day just as it was yesterday.
Have a whopping Wednesday! (LOL - I just looked back at yesterday and I signed off as if it was also Wednesday - oh well)

That looks really inviting Liz! And that lobster roll is huge! Enjoy your hike.
I woke up around 7:30am but have been lollygagging about, enjoying the view and reading while I waited for DH to wake up. Enjoying the dolce far niente: Italian for sweetness of doing nothing. The tide is out this morning and it changes the landscape so much! I believe I read that the tide changes more dramatically the farther up north you are.
I think it will be coolish today, and a bit overcast. We will probably poke around shops a bit, and then who knows what. Tomorrow we have concert tickets for an Irish music trio.
This town is SO much quieter than summer when we visited before. Pretty much just us retired types in the resturants and coffee shops. It will be interesting to see if it picks up tomorrow or Friday. It's always been quiet at night, there aren't really any bars or places to hang out after 9pm, but generally bustling in the day.
When I woke up this morning to a water view, in a comfy bed with DH sleeping next to me on a September morning, I had to pinch myself. Is this real life? yes it is. : )
The sweetness of doing nothing. I like that!

Liz, what an utterly charming place to stay! We don't have much in the way of that kind of early American charm here on the west coast.
204 this morning. Did not make me happy - especially since I did great job watching my intake yesterday. Wonder if it is because of my leg workout yesterday. Could be.... Anyhow, on to happier items.
My mantra yesterday was RETIREMENT IS HIGHLY UNDERRATED! I don't know what it was about the day, but I was constantly struck by the delight of my cir****tances. I drove past the nearby middle school. It appeared to be an early dismissal day (on a Tuesday?!?!?). I appreciated being out and about on during school hours. Last night I made a return for an online purchase and I was struck that I was unconcerned with being out on a "school night". But the biggest deal was getting stuff done with the freedom to schedule pretty much how I wanted to schedule and then have that schedule become flexible as needed throughout the day. I found myself feeling so grateful and upbeat about retired life. I'm not sure I anticipated the sense of freedom and accompanying joy that brings me. I like it!
I think I have a bug! I feel absolutely fine, but my is thick and husky today. Started last night.
I think I have to take half a gummy!!!! LOL! I woke up to pee around 5 am and I believe I was kind of "High". I felt a little dizzy or light headed. Then instead of getting up around 7:30, I felt groggy and stayed in bed until 8:30!!!!! Well, at least I got plenty of sleep! Maybe it's more related to the bug living in my throat... Who knows....
Lots to do today, so off I go!
I love hearing how you newly retired people are reveling in it. It is pretty great. People used to ask if I missed work to which I would reply that I missed the people but I never missed the other aspects of working.

Y?all teasing me with Lobster rolls! I?ve never had a ?real? east coast one!
Im tickled that DD and Peps are throughly enjoying their new retirement status! DH is liking it pretty well too!
123.7 I think, after breakfast. Still have not started back on my GLP1. My PS appointment went well today. The incisions all look good and I don't have much swelling! The PA was impressed with how flat my tummy was at one week post op! Stitches and staples come out next Wednesday.
Still getting tuckered out easily. The appointment, a short stop at the drug store for bandages and making dinner was more than enough activity for me today! Improving more each day though!
Just listen to your body. I'm glad you are doing well.
You can get some decent lobster rolls in Florida. There are a lot of New England people there so lobsters are flown in.

Greetings all
It is cloudy here but nice. Works for me. DH gt ambitious and decided to do a bunch of errands today so lucky me. Grocery store, pet food store and also taking $ to the garage door company. He is excited about a new garage door and opener opener like a kid getting a bike at Christmas. Guess it is another big gadget.
So I went to the gym and did my walk including the stairs. Ho hum just has to be done. Then I went to the studio and did some glazing. Lots of activity there as it was a big clean up day and there was pizza. Missed all that.
So Liz that lobster roll looks to die for. So great looking. Never had one. Still wonder why there is no lobster here. That inn looks wonderful and charming. The porch! What a great celebration.
Yeah Peps retirement is indeed underrated. I never did understand why some people just can't quit work. There were these old guy lawyers at the firm who hung around way too long and I never understood why since they did no useful work. I guess some people just can't accept change. My dad was kind of like that. Such people don't know what they are missing. You and DD will learn to like Mondays - the guilty pleasure of seeing others running around when you can drink coffee and cruise the news.
And yeah DD you are indeed getting a charm infusion. Enjoy. and then repeat!
Paula glad you are healing well. Keep it up. Soon you will be shopping...
Watched a series called The Marlow Murders. Set in a charming English village with some middle aged laddies meddling with murder investigations. Kind of formulaic but entertaining.
Yum yum sandwiches tonight - the loose hamburger ones. My fave.

Maybe California is too far to fly living lobsters? I wouldn't think so but there must not be any demand for it.
I think people who can't retire never cultivated interests outside of work. That was definitely true of one of the women who hung on at wor****il she was 84 and retired only because she couldn't handle the commute anymore. She didn't have any friends other than people she met at work and all her travel had always been work related. She died about a year after retiring.
