Always weird to type 9/11. What a horrible day that was.
No weight until tomorrow when I find out how much damage more blueberry pie bites did LOL. They have the best blueberries here in Maine (along with all those lobsters).
We had a great hike on Cadillac mountain yesterday. It took us a total of 3 hours to go up and down - 5 miles with an elevation gain of 1200 feet. It was a perfect day for a hike - cool and mostly sunny but not cold. The only strange thing was when you get to the top there are a whole bunch of people there who drove up the mountain. We actually did that last time we were here because we did a different hike that year. I will put pictures up on FB once I have a chance to look through them.
We are leaving here in an hour or so - stopping in Portland ME to meet DS for lunch at a place called Cheese Louise. We continue from there to central Mass to pick up Justice, finally landing on Cape Cod hopefully around dinner time. One more full day there to pack and then Justice and I fly to Florida on Saturday. I am ready as the air is definitely feeling like fall already.
The other day I mentioned that I was considering replacing my iPad. Decision made: I dropped it on the floor and the screen is all cracked up. I will have to order it for delivery in Florida, so will have to deal with it for the next couple of days.
Have a thoughtful Thursday!

All that hiking will more than burn off a couple of bites of blueberry pie! Florida bound sounds great! When will DH join you?
CC, where are you? In Arizona or Michigan?
Yesterday we spent some time going through the shops. It's pretty quiet here so we chatted with a lot of the shop keepers (many of them are the owners). We're always curious about what people think about life here. We also spent a lot of time chatting with an artist we have talked to before. So interesting to hear about his artist perspective and what inspires him. He had one painting we really admired. It was $22,000.00. He told us he was photographing it soon and would make some prints. Maybe we could afford one of those. : ) If I spent thwt much on a painting though, I don't know if I would like it that there were prints circulating. Or maybe I would be happy to know others loved it as much as I did.
In a world where I had a different financial life, I would own a summer home here, and a home in the restored downtown of St. Petersburg Florida. Since I don't, I am happy to visit.
Beautiful sunny day today. We'll head out for coffee soon, and now that it's warmer a walk on the beach. Tonight we have tickets to a music concert.
Dear Lord, 205.5 today!!!!!! All I can think of is that I'm sore as heck from my workouts this week and that I'm retaining a lot of fluid to help with muscle repair. My eating has been on track. Oh, well...
It does not seem to me that 9/11 was so long ago. But then again, the late 1980s seem like not too long ago, too! LOL!
Glad everyone seems to be doing well. Am missing CC's check ins. Hope all is well in her world.
At the dog show today. I brought my laptop so I can do some club work, but I'm not feeling very motivated to get it done. Instead I think I will order bulbs to plant since autumn approaches and one of my retirement goals is to work more in the garden.
Thriving Thursday to all!
Greetings all
Another overcast one. Spent the morning doing my usual coffee drinking and net surfing. I need information and reading like I need to eat. I do love the aspect of the iPad that allows you to look up some thing you hear about in passing and learn about it. Example: I looked up why there are not lobsters in our area. Actually there are but they are a different species - the spiny lobster - and while they are good to eat they don;t have much meat and no claws. Not worth seeking. So that is that. And one can find lobster on a dinner menu here but super pricy plus you know it traveled a long time.
Did my walking. Overheard a personal trainer telling a client that the heart rate of 130 or greater is the fat burning rate. Another thing to look up on the internet. I don't usually get to that but I am just trying to improve mobility.
Studio time after that. There was a glass person lurking briefly around the new space but not for long.
So Liz are you going to stay put in Fla for a bit? I am sure Justice wants to know.
DD owner operated shops are so fun and a great way to learn local lore. Plus they love visitors like you. Enjoy the rest of the visit.
More gardening Peps. Go for it. I assume bulbs are not going in the dog yard area. Reminds me I would like to plant some blueberry bushes. We used to have some but they kicked the bucket. Anyway enjoy perusing the catalogs for plants and bulbs. Do you have gophers?
Yeah Sept 11. What a day. Our office closed because it was in high rise building. No one did any work anyway. Remember when you could show up at an airport 20 min before a flight and get on? I do but barely.
