Yesterday was a glorious day weatherwise. Nice breeze from the northeast all day, lower humidity, lots of sun and no rain showers. Today might be as nice? I went to the beach club with my packed lunch yesterday and just enjoyed the day. DH thinks it is weird to pack a lunch when the restaurant is there but I just didn't want anything they had.
Today the only plan I have is to do the usually Justice walk (soon, as it warms up quickly when the sun is fully out). A little laundry is definitely on the list. I also need to do at least a little light housecleaning and some clothing hemming/ironing/steaming. But the latter 2 could wait until tomorrow if the weather looks promising today but not so much tomorrow. So hard to predict here in Florida.
Paula, your plans for Florida will fall in place somehow. Hopefully without too many bumps along the way. In the end I am sure DH and you will end up in the perfect home for you.
Fingers crossed for Blitz and Bug. And good luck to DD's DD as she makes a big decision on moving.
Have a superbly satisfying Sunday!

I meant to pass this recipe on. That skin condition I have where I get blisters on my hands and feet is likely something called dyshidrotic eczema which can be caused by an ingesting a lot of nickel if one is highly allergic. Chick peas and other lentils have high amounts of nickel in them and I used to consume a LOT of hummus. BTW I am super allergic to nickel when it touches my skin - costume jewelry used to make my skin break out in blisters everywhere it touched. So I decided it was worth trying to reduce the amount of nickel in my diet to see if it would help. The jury is still out though I have only had minor breakouts over the last month when I have been avoiding nickel. Because I love hummus as a snack I tried this cauliflower based hummus and I really like it! When I make it I use sesame oil instead of tahini (because tahini also has a lot of nickel) - 1/4 cup sesame oil with olive oil reduced to 2 tablespoons. Based on my first batch, I did the following with the second one and it came out great: doubled the garlic, used 1.5 times the cumin and paprika, added a bit of cayenne pepper, and stirred in chopped roasted red peppers at the end:

Easy to make and with the minor adjustments it is really tasty - possibly better than traditional red pepper hummus!

Greetings all
It is a bright sunny day and I am sitting here watching glue dry. It's the epoxy I use to glue slug figures to wine stoppers. Only takes five minutes. Beyond that it is a dull day. I did go to the gym and did my walking. It feels like it is harder than it really is, My heart rate gets to 110 or so which is not that much. I consider myself a Zen person who likes perfect tranquility. (or zin).
So the beef barley soup came out great. More for tonight. The only hard thing about it is you have to have leftover pot roast lying around. There is the Costco sliced steak that could be used but you would have to wash off the heavy seasoning. Maybe someday.
So we are watching a series called The Dope Thief. It is very intense and very gritty and violent but compelling. Two episodes left.
DD that coffee with those little spoons! so cool!
Liz your day is very appealing. Laid back. Nice.
Not much else. Plenty of laundry to do. DH advises that the dogs have dug the grand canyon out by the shed. Must inspect. No clue what to do other than fill with large rocks. And then they will start another.

LOL on the Grand Canyon. One of my stepdaughter's dogs likes to dig like that. And then there are the dirty paws of course. That has been the downside of the fenced in yard - that the dogs can hide out and get in trouble. Justice is such a well-behaved older man that I didn't think about that. He mostly lies around on the deck only occasionally venturing out into the yard for a stroll or to do his business.

121.5 for 3 days in a row. Guess my body is liking this weight right now.
We are in glorious Florida with temps in the lower 90's and humidity isn't bad at all today. If I wasn't wearing layers of compression clothing, the temps would have been perfect. I'm going to try and only wear bike shorts under my clothes tomorrow instead of full length compression stockings and bike shorts under my clothes. Hopefully the swelling won't be too bad. If so, I'll readjust later in the day with the whole garb! I did get some feet swelling from the 3 hours plane ride.
Went to a restaurant called Twisted Lobster tonight. DH had a lobster roll and fries and I had fried clam strips and clam chowder (shared both with DH and I took one bite of his lobster roll). Of course we got Key Lime pie to go and that has already been consumed! When in Florida........
Hope you and Justice had a good walk Liz. I would pack a lunch at the beach club too (it's an actual sandy beach on the water right?). One of my fav meals last time we were in Sarasota was turkey and cheese charcuterie on Rosemary crackers when we took the boys to Siesta Key beach!
Tomorrow we will look at 3 houses in Bab**** Ranch and then on Tuesday will visit 2 different golf communities and look at another 3 homes. Fingers crossed that we will feel at "home " with one of them, an offer will be made and accepted and our house will sell without incident!
Bab**** Ranch is supposed to be really nice! So excited for both of you. I am sure you will find the perfect place.
And yes, our Beach Club has a pool and restaurant but is on the ocean and we sit on the beach in the sand!
