Justice did great yesterday. I dropped him off at 8:15 and was able to pick him up at 10:45. Other than a little sleepiness, he acted like his normal self even taking our usual length evening walk after dinner. We didn't let him use the stairs though. Everyone in the vet's office just loved him because Mr Sweetness was giving everyone kisses. My former chihuahua was a terror at the vet but Justice is very compliant and sweet.
Today there is nothing specific on the agenda other than the bathtub reglazing this afternoon. I wonder how stinky that will be? We may also hit some golfballs at the practice course. But first a Justice walk!
Have a thriving Thursday!

Good news about Justice! Your new clinic seems like a good fit.
I sat on the porch this morning with a blanket, drinking my tea. Although it's supposed to be a high of 78 today, it's cold in the morning. I am kind of stunned by how much the light has changed in the month I was gone. I know the light changes, and the sun stays lower in the sky everyday this time of year, but I've never been able to sit on the porch in September mornings and observe just how much. It's 10am and no sun has touched my house. With all the trees and the hill on the south side, it's not high enough anymore. Once the leaves drop we will get plenty of morning sun, but it's so dark right now. And it's so quiet. I think many of my songbird friends left. I hear a few cheaps, but nothing like the concert going on during the summer. It's interesting to observe these details that I never registered before as I was leaving at 7am and returning after 4pm.
Today we are going to my parents house as soon as DH gets home at noon. My brother texted me earlier this week that my Dad got mad about the answering machine, that he couldn't turn it off, and he unplugged everything, and ripped stuff out of the wall, including Wifi. Luckily my Mom is adept with her cell phone and texted him and asked him to come and fix it. Reports were that it wasn't easy. Nothing with them is.
I struggled with posting some pictures of our visit with our Aunt and Uncle, because my Mom gets so jealous. But other family members do want to see the pictures, and it is an authentic representation of my life that I want to share. When she gets angry that someone else got some of my attention or that I traveled ,I just tell myself (and sometimes my Mom) that I haven't done anything wrong. People go on vacations. The last visit went well, but my Aussie sister took the brunt of complaints before I got there. There have been no other visitors except my brother since then. I'll hope for the best. If it's crazytown when we get there, well, I've been there before.
I'm out of Diet Coke!! Now that my tea is finished, Time to make a quick run to the store. Tomorrow I'll go to Costco and stock up : )
My weight is down a little bit more today. I like this trend.
Sorry that you have to deal with the events at your parent's home. Must be exhausting.
But nice that you can view your world and the changes of the seasons in a way you didn't have time to previously. I think the first time I had a similar experience was in the late spring when I became aware of how loud the birds were in the yard - the opposite of this time of year in the north.

Greetings all
It is a great fall day here. Morning was crisp but the sun is out now. I love fall best. Today I decided to drive by this one house I saw was for sale. It's off some winding roads in a woodsy area with lots of redwoods. The street was gated so I didn't see the place but was reminded of all the interesting and wonderful little neighborhoods we have here. I stopped at the store and had an "ah" moment when I could feel the sun on my back and hear folk music coming from the little farmers market. Life is pretty good in this funky little hamlet.
So glad Justice did well this time Liz. A good boy. Bathtub report please.
DD isn't it grand to rediscover weekday mornings where the neighborhood is peaceful and everything is relaxed. I guess it is the time of year when birds leave. Hoping you get a few more weeks of porch days.
So this morning I sent off the $25k check to buy the car at the end of the lease. This is with the 10k discount. The sales tax is really going to bite. oh well, we have had the car 18 months and it does not even have 5k miles on it. Cream puff. DH is actually making noises like he is going to clean out the garage. It has something to do with the new garage door that is coming next week. Well it that is what it takes. He says he wants to be able to get both cars in. I got news: that won't happen unless he actually gets rid of some stuff. We shall see.....I informed him that NOTHING from the garage is coming inside. Not one cubic inch.
I went to the studio and made a few things. Glass studio sits unused. Our staff is scurrying around with the rest of the shelving projects.
Deli turkey sandwich for dinner but I got a few things for weekend meals.

Maybe the glass people are on a silent protest (wink).
Stick to your guns about that garage. My DH periodically says he would like to be able to put both cars in up north but to do that he might actually have to get rid of a couple of the multiple tool chests which he never uses or perhaps to pare the beach chairs down from about 30+. Or maybe discard some off the broken tools or non-functioning AC window units.
