Liz you and DH are skinny pumpkins! You look great. Your nickel experiment seems to be paying off. Very clever of you to figure that out.

CC wise to invest in your roof. Who knew water would be a problem in Arizona. I'm very paranoid abou****er damage too. My family claims I am a water witch and and draw water to us in both good and bad ways.

The day started with distressing news. My special Aunt fell this morning when she was getting up to use the bathroom. An ambulance brought her to the local ER. She broke 5 ribs, so they have transferred her to a hospital in a bigger city (Springfield). I'm waiting to hear more about what her recovery will look like. We feel like we might need to go check in with them in November, regardless of how long she is in the hospitial, or if she will need to be in a rehab facility. I don't know what kind of follow up care breaking that many ribs requires, but i'm guessing it's very painful right now, and she is probably taking some big time painkillers right.

So when we were leaving for coffee DH said, hmm, I'm going to take this office chair and donate it today. (It's been in the garage forever). So I was wrong, something was leaving the garage. Except not really. When he tried to donate it, they said, normally we would take it, but the chair display area is full right now. So, the chair is back in our garage. Fate can be a cruel mistress sometimes.

After coffee we did our Costco trip.It was pretty busy on Monday. The store was filled with jaunty seniors, just like us. : )

We had a nice dinner with our friends. They surprised us by showing us pictures of a vacation home they bought in a super cute tourist town in southern Minnesota. Lots of artisans and biking in the area. DH and I have stayed at a B and B is this town before, and really enjoyed it. They showed us a picture of what will be "your bedroom" as they called it. Sweet.

Well kitchen duties are calling. I bought a package of ground beef at Costco, which needs to be broken down into one pound bags. A loathsome task, but well worth it because it's $2.00 cheaper a pound than my local grocery, and better quality. These are things I have time for now.

I'm sorry about your aunt! Don't you wish we could wrap them in bubble wrap to protect them??

Costco burger is the best. I'm sad we sold our grill so early in the clean out process, I miss a good grilled burger!

Nice you will have a room at your friends vacation honey. We are hoping friends will want to come and visit us in FL.

Hope your aunt heals okay. Not much can be done for broken ribs I'm afraid.

So sorry about your aunt. It just takes a second for a slip and fall to happen as we age and the consequences are so much worse than when we were young (when we probably wouldn't fall but if we did we'd bounce back up with nothing broken). Hopefully her recovery won't be too onerous.

It remains to be seen if I'm right about the nickel allergy but once I suspected it, everything I read on it fit my situation. Though I did my own pedicure yesterday, I could have actually gone to a salon because my skin is completely healed. It has been 2-3 years since I have been able to do that because I always had broken skin from the blisters.

Super adorable pumpkins! I agree with DD, y'all are looking great!

123.5. Second week of being on shot. Still eating sweets and salty snacks but meals have been smaller portions again. Will need to reign in the snacking!

DH and I and DSD and DC1 went to the pumpkin patch today. Thankfully the rain held out for us! I got a small sliced apple with caramel sauce which ended up being my lunch and of course had my lavender latte! We also brought home an apple pie. This place makes the best apple pies. Just the right amount of tartness for me!

DS2 will get into town tomorrow. He requested poke bowls for dinner so of course I will oblige!

DSD heads home tomorrow.

No word on if our buyers are going to release us from our contract. They are supposed to let us know by noon tomorrow. Even if they do, I'm not sure we have the time to get it done ourselves before our deadline next Monday. We will have to decide if we ask for an extension, offer for our sellers to add a bump clause but keep our contract going or just drop it altogether. Wish I had a crystal ball that would give me those answers!

I saw your pumpkin patch pics on Facebook. I am very impressed with the photo of you sitting cross legged. 1. Because it's challenging at our age espeically with creaky hips. 2. So soon after surgery! You're healing so well.

I would hope your buyers release you at this point - such a disappointment to have to possibly start over though.

Completely agree with DD! Very impressive abilities you have post-surgery and over 60. I haven't been able to sit cross-legged comfortably in a LONG time.

Greetings all

Pouring rain early this morning but it has subsided. Yikes, it is too early for the rainy season for me. I wi**** was always summer. I went to the gym and did my walking and felt better this time than last time. I guess I have to accept that some days I will just hurt more than others. Today I did the whole routine and even a bit of incline. After that it was studio time. I collected new things from he kiln and made some new stuff. Studio buddy showed up for awhile. I know she is missing art work but is hopelessly mired in the home building process. She wants to make her own decorative tiles for the bath and kitchen. I once entertained that idea but realized it would never get done and we needed a geezer proof bathroom pronto I sort of suggested that but...

Liz you guys are cute pumpkins. Sounds like a good event. Who knew that there was nickel in chick peas or anything else for that matter. Cool that you figured that out.

CC I am with your roofer - tarantulas would elicit squeals. Glad the roof is getting repaired.

That book sounds interesting Peps. I think I mentioned we watched the series "Adolescence" which was sort of about society failing teenagers and phones and social media were a large part of it. Enjoy a Monday of puttering.

Ditto DD. Funny about the chair. A boomerang chair. So sorry your aunt took a fall. She must be pretty uncomfortable and not much to be done but just wait and heal. Hoping she can get some relief.

Tastee sandwiches last night and again tonight. My DH is a peculiar person but he always seems grateful for whatever dinner I throw together.

Paula still channeling house sale energy. Are you feeling recovered from your plastics? I was amaze you went house shopping so soon.

Not much else. Diane S

I do feel mostly recovered from my PS. Still have some lifting restrictions but even those won't be around for much longer. Incisions only hurt when touched and even then, not so bad. If I sleep on my side which I'm finally able to do, I need to put a small pillow between my legs so my thigh incisions don't rub on each other!

Good for you for getting back on that treadmill and extra points for adding the incline!
