The crew arrives tonight. DSD and husband fly into the local airport at 7 pm, and other DSD and grandchildren to Orlando at 7:30 arriving here by rental car at about 9:30 or so. In the meantime, I have super relaxing yoga and laundry to be done. Basically a normal day until late. Then the fun begins. DH has a full spreadsheet with the itinerary.

Do you remember that in all prior years the ex-wife would also come so she could spend the holiday with her children and grandchildren? DH would pay for her visit. She opted not to come this year because she is going on a cruise instead. DH says that shows where her priorities are (not her family). I won't miss her but I'm sure the kids will.

Time to find the flip flops that I had on last night but can't find this morning. A Justice walk will follow. Have a surprise Saturday!

First Pod will be delivered today! Tomorrow we have help with moving the big stuff!

We went to our first social event last night. It was a Decades Dance party with a buffet dinner. Many of the attendees dressed up in 60's, 70's and 80's attire. It was pretty fun and we got a little dancing in! Made me think of all the parties Luz has in her community!

DH and I successfully put together the vanity with a million parts yesterday and we didn't even kill each other. We still need to put together a desk, file cabinet and storage unit for the office and the entryway coat/shoe organizer. That will probably have to wait until both Pods are delivered and emptied! Oh joy!

Have fun with all the family Liz! I personally would be happy the ex wife will be a no show. I think that could get a bit uncomfortable!

Sounds like a fun dance! Good luck getting the stuff moved in from the pod. Assembling furniture can be a challenge. I'm thinking of getting a new cabinet for my dining room which would have to be assembled. Maybe I will look at consignment shops first.

I get along fine with the ex-wife. DH not so much though he is cordial and invites her for the kid's sake. Family means everything to him which is one of the things about him that attracted me from the beginning (even before we met in person).

With Pep's help, I have processed all my Christmas travel emotions and options. I marveled at how, when he suggested flying for New Year's instead, instantly I didn't feel so trapped into flying for Christmas. I just needed to feel like I had a choice in what felt like a choiceless situation. So I'm going for Christmas. Ha... I called my dad and he sounded so happy. So it's the right decision. I fly out on the 23rd and come back on the 27th. So my birthday is spent in flight, but that's my choice and okay with me.

Hopefully Kirby will have a lot of pups to play with at the boarding place. They book up fully at the holidays so he should. And now that he's neutered, his playmate options will be wider.

Today I have a hair appointment. It's supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow and then be clear and nice for a week.

So that's my world today... Hope everyone has a good weekend!

And it is just for a few days! Perfect! I wish we could shorten our time in the cold but to see both families we are stuck with being north for 13 days. At least we can fly with Justice since he fits nicely under the seat.
