118.2

Our quiet day was quite enjoyable yesterday. We did go out once to the food store to get dog food and a couple of other things but that was it. Cookies were made, Home Alone was watched, we listened to symphonic Christmas music and we had leftover pot roast for dinner. Man that pot roast tastes great the second time around!

Today we also have little planned before we have a lot of driving tomorrow and the next day. In past years we would go to DS's birthmom's home on Christmas Eve but we just don't have the energy to drive from here (it is much further than my former house was and last year we stayed in a hotel near there). I have plans to see her over the weekend instead. Tonight we have reservations to eat at a local Chinese place which DH's family loves but I have never gone to. He is all excited about it. I eat Chinese food but it isn't necessarily my favorite. There wasn't a lot open tonight and DH wanted to go there.

But first there will be a Justice walk of course with the length depending on how cold/windy it is. No snow on the ground though it had been a possibility yesterday. I'm not sure anything significant came down where DD is either though we had thought there might be a white Christmas there.

Have a Winter Wonderland Wednesday!

Greetings from the hot house! Lordy, my dad likes it warm inside. I'm sitting in the uninsulated porch room right now with my slippers off to cool off. It's 74 in the house. I slept with the window cracked and turned the heat off in the room I'm staying in and it was still 72 in there this morning. Too hot for the massive comforter on the bed. It's 30 outside and even this uninsulated room is 70. Maybe I'll drop a few pounds from sweating!

I think I'm going to Meijer (our grocery/Target-like store) to get new Airpods today. Mine have a screeching hiss when I first put them on and it's going to damage my hearing. I researched online and it's a thing with no solution. They are 6 years old, so it's time.

I need to wrap my presents today, but that's about it. Despite the heat, it's so wonderful to see my dad doing so great. It's remarkable to see the difference from him this summer. He admitted he thought he was headed toward his end with how he felt all summer. He's spry, upbeat, and seems so much happier and engaged. Claudia agreed it's night and day.

Think I'll go get dressed and start the day!

Take care and Merry Christmas Eve!

So happy to hear that your Dad is doing well! Best gift ever!

I prefer 75! That's what we keep our FL house at. In the winter we would keep the WI house between 72 and 74, with me turning it up and DH turning it down. I'm all bundled up today in jeans, a plaid flannel and a fleece jacket!

75 with a/c and 75 with the heater are two entirely different temperatures!! 75 with a/c when it's humid out is at the high end of okay. 75 with her and I don't feel like I can breathe!

Great news about your Dad feeling so good. I am glad you are there to spend time with him.

Definitely have that window open. I can't sleep if it is too warm - ideally it is 67 or lower for me to sleep.

I like Chinese but we don't have it too often. We pick sushi more often if Asian cuisine is to be had.

Hope you get a good Justice walk in Liz!

No weight until we get back to FL. Like Liz, I have been pretty steady so I'm not too worried about. I stopped tracking calories and macros right around the time I had my PS. It feels freeing not to have to track and still maintain nicely. I know I'm not getting in the protein I did before but overall think my nutrition is pretty good.

DSD is coming this afternoon, a day later but she will stay with us. I got permission for the cat to stay here too. Thankfully the owner was willing to make an exception to his rules for us!

Making pasta tonight with red meat sauce and chicken Alfredo, garlic bread and Caesar salad, easy and will feed a crowd. We will decorate Christmas cookies tonight and the kids may go out to the bar for Karaoke night.

The dogs are still a bit anxious in their new surrounds and were up and down throughout the night! I'm feeling nappy right now but not sure if I will get one in or not. DSD and DC1 will both get here around 2, DS2 is up and socializing and DS3 is sleeping since he stays up most of the night (his norm), I ran into him eating chips at 2 am and woke to an almost empty box of Swiss rolls. The kid likes to snack!

Hope you all have a great Holiday!

Sounds like it will be a lovely Christmas Eve for your family! Your meal sounds better to me than Chinese LOL.

200.8 (quiet little happy dance today)

Must get moving! There is plenty to do today, but I did want to check in with everyone and say Merry, Merry!

CC, so glad to read your dad is doing so much better. What a great gift! I bet you are absolutely thrilled you made the trip to Michigan!

Love Chinese food! But I will admit, I have not been impressed with Chinese cuisine on the east coast or in the midwest. Same with Mexican on the east coast. Just not the same. Come to the west for those foods.

Hope you all enjoy your families and to the moms, I wish the time with your kiddos is all you hope it to be!

Happy Christmas Eve!

Woot, woot! Almost 200 - Merry Christmas!

Maybe that's why I don't like Chinese much here - I'll need to have some on the west coast! I don't like Mexican much here in New England, but I do like it in Florida.

Greetings all

In spire of predictions the sun is out in full today. The weatherman was forecasting doom and gloom and terrible rain and wind and power outages but it did not happen here. At least not yet. There are some outages south of here and flooding but we seem to be exempt. A couple of miles makes a big difference.

So I feel like I am on the downside of this cold which is great. Today's plan is some cooking and wrapping. Last night was peculiar because DH had promised to pick up his friend from the airport. Flight was supposed to get in a 10;30 but it was more like 1 am. I went to bed and let him deal with it. This is the friend who is very tech challenged and his initial flight got canceled and DH had to walk him through making changes. DH sits and monitors the United flight app and could tell that Jerry's plane was still in so cal and not close to Reno. So funny.

Hey my new pillows are here!

CC so thrilled to hear that your dad is chipper. Priceless. But yeah, heat to 75 is not good. And agreed, AC to 75 is way different than heat to 75. Glad to hear you have that porch. You are brave to face a big box store today.

Chinese food sounds good Liz. Always fun to choose dishes to share. We don't have much good asian food in our backwater town. Wish we did. Peps is right - west coast does asian food best.

Paula having all your family sounds fun. Wishing you no more drama. Dinner sounds great.

199 is sneaking right up Peps.

Well time to get moving and cooking.
